Is it even a gamble once you’re in 5th round on a former 1OA in Q lol we’re lucky he was still there

Is a fifth-round pick really a gamble?

It would’ve been a smart gamble if we picked him in the 2nd or 3rd round. Picking him in the 5th was luck, he fell into our laps.

Least heralded ‘ti gars d’ché nous to have been drafted by MTL in franchise history. It’s almost impressive just how little hype there is around the guy and how cautious everyone is with him. I wonder how he feels about it, whether he likes that he’s a bit under the radar or if he’s a bit piqued that he’s being underestimated.

We need to get past the why don’t we draft quebec players, it’s the only city in professional sports that think this way. Draft the best player available et amene nous le coup Stanley.. tu veux avoir le reconnaissance a quebec? Gagne le coup Stanley.. si yont du character et apprend le francais cest parfait… No longer are the times we can draft top quebec players whenever we want and most don’t even want to play here. They sign with American teams.

I like Roy because he plays the game. While not very physical, this kid isn’t afraid to fight for position and possession. His touches are usually good and I’m not seeing many defensive lapses. He’s offensively creative with an underrated release. I see him getting at least 40 points at some point.

He was a late call up in the world juniors and I was really impressed with him there. Mind you he was playing with Bédard but still, he impressed.
