They looked great … and that was without Pesce and Luke, and without any points by Jack, Bratt, or Meier. It feels like we're seriously loaded. And GREAT to see Dougie back out there. I almost forgot what a huge difference he makes.

This is what confidence feels like. Marky playing like i thought he would. Heavier, Edgier, more Violent turning out to be just straight up better. There are flashes of even better things to come, too. Goal is now just to keep it consistent. THIS is what a successful playoff team looks like. Enjoy the ride, looks like a fun season.
Like you said, “turning point,” finally. This win was great and Ruff…er rough for the Sabres. This was the Markstrom that you, myself, and those of who were excited about his signing us knew he could be. This was the Markstrom we were hoping for. Let’s keep the momentum up! Also, finally I feel like we have filled in the missing Madden/Clarkson types that we’ve been hurting for. And finally I feel confident in our future prospects. It might only be the first game, but bodes well for the season as we know we have the skill to do this. LET’S GO DEVILS!!!!!!

Love your enthusiasm, but it was one game. I need to see this play and better continuing all the way into December and beyond, and THEN I'll start to get excited. As it is, they let up waaaay too many Shot Attempts (over 50!!). Their passes also looked a little unclean, and their defensive positioning could have been a little better. But they should definitely improve, especially when Pesce comes back on D, and Luke starts carving up the ice from his own end. Until then though, keep pumping up the fans. You are always a breath of fresh air.

First period was amazing. The second was pretty good too. Then we get to the 3rd and the lack of forechecking, puck possession and not playing in the offensive zone much was a little nerve racking. If they can play like the 1st all season, the sky is the limit. Markstrom was amazing! Dillon is going to be huge this season. I call the Dougie/Dillon pairing Double D’s. They are our Blue Line Bombers.
A crazy thing happened after the game when I was outside the O2 having a smoke. Someone commented on my CCM Stevens jersey and it happened to be one of your viewers/friends. Small world.
We ended up taking a Bolt(Euro Uber) back to the Hilton and having a good conversation.

They gotta play better in game 2 had a strong first period but it was buffalo in the 2nd and 3rd and they missed a lot of good chances.
it was such a nice feeling to watch the devils and not get scored on first and let in a million muffins, and to see a game that the devils dominated without jack putting up a 4 pt night. it shows the night and day difference in the depth of this team. although i do want to see jack have a big game today in game 2, and the depth chart gets even better when you realize that this team is without 2 of the teams 3 best dmen. when luke and pesce come back the rest of the nhl better look out because its going to be very hard to score on the devils. for me this season as a whole still depends on whether or not this team stays healthy. but omg the small taste weve gotten so far does give me such an incredible feeling that i havent felt in a very long time.
Devils are number one in the league right now.
