Interesting. I wonder if the Avs are going to cut one of the defencemen loose.

He was drafted 69th overall so….

I have no idea who this guy is but his numbers aren’t anything to write home about. Brannstrom and Kylington really must have not impressed…

If you look at the analytics the only one of the Dmen fighting for a spot putting up decent numbers is Malinski. Could be looking at a Ludwig-Malinski third line

Hooray, another guy for McGahey to make the “born in the distant future, the year 2000” joke

Guys … the Girard trade is coming. We need wing help/cap relief desperately. Malinski has earned a spot. They don’t want to lose Brann or Kylington to waivers.

Going from Kylington to Ludvig saves 250k in cap space. That’s going to be really important this year. I’m betting that is what happens.

Left handed big boy. This is good news for Sam Malinski and Cal Ritchie I think.

Who?

So do we have de Haan, Brannstrom, Kylington, and Ludvig all competing for 3rd pair left side?

Picking up another defenseman? 😕

Can his nickname be Beethoven?

I’ll admit I have ZERO armchair GM cred but this is the kind of move that surprises me. The Avs have a great top four D set and have questions in the depth of the forward group, especially the tirio of Lehky, Gabe and Nuke resolves themselves. Is Ludvig a better option that the signings? I sure don’t know. This will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
