A few things I think will happen after tonight’s game:
1. I think Lorentz will also get a contract. Likely a one-year deal at league minimum 2. Hakanpaa and Dewar likely begin the year on LTIR 3. There may be some trades tomorrow to clear up some cap space (Liljegren? Kampf?)
Should make for an interesting 48 hours no matter what

If we move on from Kampf, I’ll be sad. Have always liked him

I will be very annoyed if they trade Liljegren and the return is nothing or minimal. They didn’t learn anything different about Liljegren in the last 2 weeks and 3 preseasons games, they knew what they had. So if you were going to get nothing for him, then non-tender him. Or trade his rfa rights at the draft for a mid round pick or something. Then they could have actually used that 3 million in cap space during the offseason when players were actually available. It’s more bad cap management by this Shanahan front office. Brandon Pridham wouldn’t be such a known name, if this front office didn’t need him to pull off miracles every 2 months…
I’m not necessarily saying it’s the wrong move. I just think it would be annoying.

If only we could have seen this coming…

I personally think Robertson has earned whatever spot Pacioretty would have on the team.

Okay but why? Didn’t he have like 4 points last year?

They can start the year with Dewar and Hakanpaa on LTIR but eventually they will have to make a trade once both are ready to return and the easiest person to trade is still Jarnkrok. I like Jarnkrok but they have so many wingers that are close in comparison to him that it makes him the most likely cap casualty. The roster fits under the cap so they can start accruing cap space right away though, so maybe they do that instead of going into LTIR if they find a trade partner earlier, this is personally what I would do. If they don’t do that though now its the fun part for Pridham and us trying to get as close to $88M to set the best possible ACSL before going into LTIR…
