Even if a team WANTED Engvall, why claim him? Wait and do a trade with a GM who is always willing to package picks to free up cap. There are a number of rebuilding teams who would gladly take the $3 mil hit for a 2nd round pick. Lou would take that deal in half a heartbeat so he can have a full roster AND accumulate a little bit of cap space. Engvall is a decent 3rd line, defensive forward. Over paid, but definitely adds to a rebuilding roster.
This is great news and actually got me more excited for Thursday!!! I don’t have to watch that useless spot on the bench Engvall. 6’4” 200lb guy that is softer than a marshmallow. I would have taken a 1/4 of his pay and would have done more and I can’t skate for shit! And egghead Lou signs him to a 6yr no trade clause AND 18 million left! Lou should have immediately been drug tested!
No GM in there right mind is going to take Engvall, As a Owner of a team this is a Great reason to get rid of your General Manager, I’m delighted that he is not on the team, LGI !!!!
