Not surprised about Aston-Reese tbh, he’s decent.

    Idk who we claimed though

    Both are centres.

[Cole Schwindt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cole_Schwindt) was a third-round pick of Florida in 2019, and was acquired by Calgary in the Tkachuk/Huberdeau/Weegar trade. Has zero points in seven NHL games, 110 points in 218 AHL games.

[Raphaël Lavoie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapha%C3%ABl_Lavoie) was a second-round pick of Edmonton in 2019. Also has zero points in seven NHL games, 131 points in 202 AHL games, and posted 45 points in 51 games with Väsby of the Allsvenskan (Swedish second-tier) a few years back.

Claimed Raphael Lavoie (Edmonton) and Cole Schwindt (Calgary)

Lavoie is an early 2nd rounder from 2019. Hasn’t cracked the NHL full time (all 7 nhl games came last year, no points), but is a pretty solid AHL player.

Schwindt, 2019 3rd rounder by Florida. Was a part of the Tkachuk trade. Has been an okay AHL player, 7 nhl games, no points

    Added details:

Jonas Rhondbjerg & Tanner Laczynski clear waivers, and have been assigned to Henderson.

Vegas has a net gain of +1 for player contracts.

Hello. I am a Cole Schwindt expert/enthusiast from Calgary. I’ll tell ya what you need to know.

We obtained Schwindt in the Huberdeau/Weegar/Tkachuk trade two years ago. At the time Brian Burke said that he was close to NHL-ready. Schwindt has spent the vast majority of the past two seasons with the AHL affiliate.

His numbers in the AHL may look underwhelming, but don’t be concerned. The coaching staff has focused on deploying him as a shut-down centre and on the PK. As a result, he gets harder match-ups and has been more concerned about developing a strong two-way game. This was intended to prepare him for the role he was projected to play in the NHL.

Schwindt hasn’t looked out of place in the NHL games that he has played but he isn’t flashy, so it’s hard to notice. Unfortunately, the decision to switch Martin Pospisil and Connor Zary to the centre ice position means that Schwindt was pushed further down the Flames depth chart, ergo… Waivers.

Enjoy Schwindt, I’m glad he’ll get his chance with you guys. However, also don’t be shocked if he isn’t on waivers again later in the year.

You know I still don’t know enough about hockey to have my own informed opinions on stuff like this.

Someone tell me how to feel.
