Maybe preparing for a Gibson move early in the season. You imagine there is either 1 team that is going to be doing much better than they thought they'd be, and a veteran goalie like Gibson could help the less than ideal tandem they have. Think maybe a Philly, Toronto, St. Louis.

Florida Panthers: Sunrise Florida, which is north of Miami and the location of the Panthers home games is well south of the predicted hurricane path and major storm surge locations. The Weather Channel forecast says "scattered" and "isolated" thunderstorms for Tuesday and Tuesday night, not continuous heavy rain for hours on end. Broward County is not in one of "mandatory" or "voluntary" evacuation zones. The game should go on with no issues for fans or the teams.
The Tampa Bay Lightening is a much more serious situation. There could be severe and possibly "catastrophic" damage from wind and storm surge. The Lightening play in Carolina Friday and are probably already out of town. They are supposed to play the Canes again in a back to back in Tampa on Saturday but if there is extensive damage in Tampa with road closures, infrastructure damage and power outages, then that game may be in jeopardy.
I am surprised nobody grabbed Bussi or Rodrigue.

No surprise the Ducks picked up Reimer with Gibson out to start the season. Clang can go to AHL now.
The big surprise is Buffalo putting Reimer on waivers when Levi is waver exempt. I guess Levi earned his spot in the team.
Reimer is a pick up because Gibson is out for at least a month. It's likely they are using this as an easily disposable piece when he returns, trade bait/sweetener for other pieces or a back up for Dostal should they finally manage to trade Gibson after years of trying.
The Reimer pick up is low-key a nice move. Anaheim can just carry him for a bit as insurance and effectively trade him for like a 5-round pick or a pick upgrade and it cost them nearly nothing.
I doubt the Panthers and Bruins play tomorrow. It’s rainy down here but schools are closed Wednesday and Thursday for Broward county. Also the use of police and first responders would be taken off of game duty and used in case of accidents etc. I thought it was smart to cancel the ceremony because it has been messy down here already. Easier to cancel something when the NHL and other teams aren’t involved. Lots of rain yesterday and today. I think an auto accident happening because folks wanted to go to the ring ceremony would be a big damper on the players as well, thinking their ring ceremony lead to something bad happening to a fan.
Actual on ice thoughts: Cole Schwindt was a piece of the Tkachuk package. I think he’s a good young player that should do well in Vegas if given the chance.

FL Panthers game needs to be canceled. Just a safety issue and travel issue. Quebec City might be getting a hockey team for a few weeks, maybe longer. St Pete is right on the water and going to get hit by the eye. Looks like a direct hit from Naples up to Gainsville, FL. so yeah. Expect a postponed FL Panthers game and a bunch of Tampa games. Just the flood waters will make it hard to navigate to the Tampa Arena.

There’s that Patera guy again, and glad to see Aston-Reese acquired, though he’ll get as many commiserations as congratulations. Columbus is in for a rough year, and they were before the Gaudreau’s deaths.
As for Reimer, didn’t think that would last. Leaves Buffalo thin on goalie depth, Levi/Sandstrom will have to back UPL up barring an upcoming deal.

I’ll explain why the ring ceremony is cancelled but not the game tuesday; there is heavy rains Monday from a low unrelated to Milton which has put the area under a flood alert, however on Tuesday it could be partly sunny in South Florida as Milton is miles away in the Gulf. Wednesday though, it will be nasty!!!

Reimer was claimed by Anaheim to help with depth for goaltending based on Gibson’s injury.
No flipping kidding Reimer gets claimed. Dumb move by the Sabres FO. Knew this would happen.
Buffalo waived him because they want UPL/Levi up with the club and Reimer in the AHL. So it was gonna be him or Levi sent down, but he had to be waived first. At 1yr 1M, of course he is a top claim target. The Ducks are surprising but him being claimed is not surprising at all.
Brown released from PTO but is said to have an offer of the Crunch and will be signing there.
