that is so much better than the doom-scenarios i’ve been coming up with in my head

  2. MyOwnMom

Good news in my eyes. I’d resigned myself to demko hopefully returning in time for the playoffs

As long as Demko take the necessary rest and recovery time he need and not to be rushed, I am comfortable with him taking a little more time. Obviously, hope he comes back sooner rather than later but his long term health and longevity is more important for this team.

Joshua is the same thing. His personal health above his hockey career. But all signs indicate he should be back fairly early in the season. I wish him the best of luck.

seeing timeline with “weeks” instead of “months” is good news!

ok thank god. i was worried demko would be out until at least january or something.

can’t wait to have joshua back!

  6. I already submitted to Demko being out for most of the year, so if he’s back and as healthy as can be by Remembrance Day that’s a massive W

Also hoping Joshua can get back up to speed, I’m a little worried about how his season will look without a full training camp

Honestly best case scenario, let them rest and don’t overplay Demko

I’d give demko an extra month. Fuck it.

I’ll believe it when I see it with Demko tbh. This has actually been a pretty long recovery for him. Also want to see if he’ll be himself when he gets back. I say keep him out as long as necessary.

  10. Considering how much depth we have, I’m all for waiting, and am not worried.

    I can’t believe I’m saying this.

Elliot Friedman on 32 thoughts podcast had a warm take that he thought canucks management will take their time with Demko since the tandem of Silovs/Lankinen with our defense should be steady. Like it might be pushed an even longer time period if the duo plays well

Dakota, Thatcher – take my body parts!

Demko is only out 3-4 weeks??? Since uh…when was he back? 👀

  14. I wonder if Demko will get a few conditioning games in Abbotsford before returning to NHL. Does that happen to a goalie of Demko’s stature or is it straight into NHL duties? Missing preseason “mean nothing” games makes me think there’s at least a chance it would happen.

Who said Silovs gives the starter role back?

  16. diggidydangidy

The rise of the one they call Silovs shall continue.

as long as it’s not 6-8 weeks after 3-4 weeks 😬

I can never believe anything about demko coming back because they’ve said he’d back for 3 different time periods that weren’t true

  19. NerdPunch

I know people were concerned about Demko’s timeline, but he’s been skating/doing on-ice workouts for over a month now.

Good to hear it’s a 3-4 week timeline, but I don’t think that should be too surprising.

  20. looseygoosey11

If they were confident he’d be at 100% in just 4 weeks, they wouldn’t have signed Lankinen.

  21. Alextryingforgrate

Not happy having to drop Josh in my pool but im holding on to Demko for the season.

  22. Excited to hear both are going to be on the ice fairly soon. In the mean time, I have no problem enjoying the Arty party.
