Feels soon, but heās a natural fit for it
So he got clutters A im assuming…im all for it and well deserved. It just feels so strange now that barzy doesnt have an A, but maybe when Lee eventually moves on Horvat will get the C and barzy will get an A
By far the most deserving player (that doesnāt have one) on the roster of a letter currently.
Not to take anything away from Horvat because I think he is absolutely deserving of wearing a letter on any team in this league, but as someone who has no clue what the vibes in the locker room are like, Iām a bit surprised Barzal didnāt get an āAā before Horvat. Heās been the teamās most consistent scorer and always shows up in the it moments. He came into the league as a dynamic offensive forward but had re-worked his game to be a respectable defensive forward as well. He was just top-3 in takeaways for all forwards. He also gave up his natural center position and moved to the wing when the Islanders acquired Horvat with no hesitation and thrived. He also gives the most natural, least hockey-stereotypical interviews to any media member of any player Iāve ever seen. From an outside perspective, he embodies the defintion of leading by example.
As a nucks fan, Bo is a solid leader in the locker room. If he can handle the C in Vancouver he’ll handle the A in Long Island with grace.

For ya’ll saying Barzel should get the A, I’ll disagree because while he’s an absolute talent and key figure on the team, that doesn’t equate to him being able to carry the additional responsibilities of an actual letter on his Jersey.
There’s enough studies and anecdotal evidence to suggest that the added pressure and responsibility of being a captain or alternate captain can sometimes lead to a decline in individual performance.
Matt’s job this year is to break out & completely shatter all expectations, meet and far exceed what everyone has been predicting he can do paired with the right players. Now he has that.
Anything less than 90 points this year for him is a disappointment.

Maybe it’s best that Barzal doesn’t get a letter because we need him to do what he does better than anyone on our team and that’s play hockey. No reason to add any unnecessary pressure to him. I do think he deserves the C though, but that’s just me.
Should have given it to a defenseman , Pulock maybe then give Horvat captaincy or a letter once Lee is gone
