that damn post man
* The Hawks started the 2024-25 season in Utah. Foligno is the Hawks’ new captain. Nolan Allen made his NHL debut.
* Guenther beat Mrazek to score Utah’s first goal.
* A Smith turnover led to another Utah goal.
* The Hawks started the 2nd stronger, generating opportunities but hit iron thrice.
* Bedard set up Teuvo for the Hawks’ first goal this season.
* Durzi fought Murphy after he laid a hit on Keller.
* The Hawks PP is woeful.
* Bedard tried the Michigan, but was denied. Hall was stopped on a breakaway.
* A Vlasic shot was deflected by Foligno into the net.
I hate these Utah dipshits already/again.
GG boys. Terrible first period but good fight back. Bedard and Teuvo connection is gonna be crazy if they connect all season like they did tonight.
Maybe we shouldn’t assume that the season is lost after one bad period.
Utah couldn’t even beat the Hawks by more than 3. Total wash, relocate the team to Moosejaw
Kurashev looks just fine without Bedard, it’ll be a huge boost if he can anchor that 2nd line
That first period cost us the game. That second and third period has to be the game plan going forward.
I wish we won but oh well. Very excited for the growth this year. Not expecting to be good. Just better than last year.
I’m mad but I’m not, they played great the 2nd and the 3rd and the new signings showed quality on offense
Bedard’s line and Kurashev’s line especially looked amazing they just couldn’t finish a chance to tie it

T.J Brodie 😭
Pretty much the same shit we watched last season
It was actually super close.
We started painfully slow, which has been an issue with this team for a long time. Not being prepared to start games. That cannot continue and I hope they make addressing that issue a huge priority.
We got better as the game went on and deserved to at least tie it and send it to OT.
It’s gonna be a lot more of the same this year but we will win more games than last season 100% if we can figure out how to play strong for more than 20-30/60 minutes.
to be fair, the Utah NHL team has never lost a game before
Foligno is not a first line player, but he has chemistry with Bedard and his physical style of play complements the skill of Bedard and Teravainen. He’s also the hardest working player on this team over the age of 26.
Enough bars for a pub crawl.
Cody Parkey legacy game
The Hawks looked better as the game went on, but what a horrible start. It’s only game one, hopefully things only go up from here.
I have no confidence some of the older side of the roster can keep up the effort that is needed for this hockey to be palatable
If we play like the latter 2 periods I will gladly enjoy this season. This isn’t a good team, but as long as they’re competitive I’m happy.
Nolan Allen low key played really solid. I wasn’t super high on him, or at least not more than Korch or EDM, but I love me a solid defensive dman.
Dickenson almost killed someone. I feel like no one is talking about that. He was flying at full speed when he laid that dude out.
Lost to a literal nameless team…smh
If we can really get a consistent 60 min effort, a better PP, and less hitting the post, this season should be better. The first period was awful, but I liked the last two.
Bedard is on pace to be +82 by the end of the year- take that Wild fans! In all seriousness, his 200 foot game was a lot better tonight than at any point last year. Still work to be done, but he looks stronger and more engaged off-puck thus far. I’m really excited to see that growth continue, and to see him and Turbo gain some more chemistry. They have serious potential together.
On the negative side, our D-core looks rough. Maybe that was Davidson’s plan all along though, in order to help us get another top-5 draft pick.
