As a player, she’s an absolute all-time great and a legend. Would like to see her (or any Habs’ coach) gain some coaching experience at the AHL level at least before going behind the NHL bench. That said, it’s not like MSL had any experience before becoming head coach, and she is currently in a consulting role with the team, so it’s not crazy to think she could step in as an assistant.
Should also think about Kori Chevarie and Caroline Oullette, they’re as qualified as anyone else I can think of.
