Matt, you are completely wrong. Stupid, and wrong. Your brother is literally the greatest example of hunting on the entire planet, whose examples are to be considered the absolute golden standard for not only hunters, but all conservationists worldwide. His practices, his ethics, and his ability are the single greatest education for hunters the world over. He not only brings to light the multitude of issues pertaining to the realm of hunting, conservation, and sustainability of the act, but directly contributes to its actual survival, both in terms of direct monetary support of the many businesses involved in his hunts, to the many supporting companies that survive directly off of hunting as an industry. His passion, his care, and his pride are all at the forefront of what makes him so effective as a symbol of hunters, everywhere. His accomplishments are greater than arguably anyone in the field in the last 20 years, maybe more. Saying he is in the wrong for sharing and showcasing his hunts is equivalent to saying Einstein shouldn't have shared his knowledge and passion of physics with the rest of the world. Your jealousy of his success is sad and petty. And he is right to feel betrayed. You DID betray him. His loyalty to hunting and conservation is far greater served because of his willingness to show it, in all of its harsh, hard, and stark reality, than yourself. Speaking of which, what have YOU done for the hunters? What have you showcased? Nothing. Literally nothing.
As a former professional cameraman and producer for many outdoor shows, I can say that it’s all about the money. I have witnessed good intentions turn to product placement overnight. Lies, back stabbing and immoral behaviors is why I got out of it. I refused to be a part of that scene anymore. They thank Jesus as they are lying, breaking game laws and cheating on their wives. Sad.
Thanks for bringing all the attention to sika hunting on the eastern shore of Maryland Steve. Just kidding FUCK YOU. people don’t know how to keep their goddamn mouth shut that’s the problem these days. Nothing is sacred anymore.
Steve is globalizing the pragmatism and culture of hunting in a way that is bringing more people into the outdoor sporting world. Are there more people on public land? Yes. That's a good thing. In a democratic society where hunting is on the chopping block in several forms, we need more hunters and anglers. Matt's perspective is antiquated and, frankly, dangerous to the longevity of our outdoor passions.
When you get paid to hunt or fish, and have to do it at such a rate that you are annually putting thousands and thousands of pounds of meat in the freezer, BUT only need 500ish pounds of meat to consume each year, you have become a professional trophy hunter and the type of hunter everyone hates….. it’s the nature of the beast!
“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” —Harvey Dent(Aaron Eckhart)
You’re doing the exact same things with this podcast. Using hunting to get fame. Two things can be true at the same time. Loving hunting and wanting to show that to the world. The more people hunt the harder it is for the world to ban it. They are saying it’s scientific for men to be women you think they wouldn’t kill every bit of masculinity this country has left??
I agree with Matt and Steve. Steve is clearly different than the rest. Matt should make that distinction. Steve has an audience more than any other hunting personality well outside hunting culture. He is our voice if we don’t have a voice they will decide what we are and what we’re all about for us. We need Steve. You really want Bomar to be our voice you guys? Not good.
Randy Newberg posted a deer hunt in the exact camp where I hunted with my kids for decades. The hunting pressure in that general hunt sky rocketed. The deer quality declined greatly. The pressure was tremendous, and the animals are always freaked out. The otc archery hunt was worse and non residents pressure was up by quadruple. Guides flooded the unit and now the hunt is unrecognizable. A general hunt. An easy basic hunt just ruined. Those influencers are hot garbage.
The comments in this thread is exactly the problem. The Fud Nation is here defending an extremely shrewd business man who exploited hunting to become rich.
The idea that hunting is going away bc there aren’t enough hunters is bullshit pushed by states to sell more licenses and retail stores to sell more shit. Social media has blown up hunting and out of state travel hunting beyond belief. Just look at some of the draw odds
I started hunting well before Meat Eater appeared. I watched a lot of hunting shows over the years. Watching Meat Eater was different. The stories were captivating, and relatable. The cooking at the end of the shows made a difference too. That’s the true celebration of a successful hunt.
Matt is jealous of Steve and is tearing his own brother down. Matt doesn’t like new hunters and is being a gate keeper to hunting. The more people that hunt the better it is for hunting. Steve and Randy are great ambassadors for hunting.
I agree with Matt absolutely—-newberg, rinnella, Hanes, i hope remi does not go the direction of marketing and money. It is a joke out there new hunters taking 600 yard shots—-all this trophy hunting bs-I don’t have a good feeling the direction we are headed.
Oh ya I got something last September that I thought I was done! Couldn’t walk dizzy for 3-4 weeks. Then just gone! No clue what it was. I have had no shot. But damn whatever that was is nuts! That made the Covid I had feel like a walk in the park. But I kinda wondered if it stemmed from that Covid crap.
I have one clear advice to all hunters in the US. Do whatever you can to buy your own hunting property because it will be close to impossible to hunt on public land in a not so distant future and you can be totally sure that your grandchildren will have zero access to public hunting some decades from now.
If it wasnt for Steven Rinella and other hunting icons there wouldn't have been enough money and people to fight against the animal humpers trying to keep everyone from hunting in general… he owes his current situation to his brothers success… noone would care what he even says if he wasnt given an image by his brother…
Same "regular" people who say they cannot afford hunting due to being middle class etc. many drive cars and trucks they cannot afford, eat fast food, and spend more than they make…..quit WHINING!
(From what I’ve seen in the comments, Matt wants to keep hunting out of the spotlight… and we all know Steve wants it front and centre in the spotlight.) A hunter who’s grown up around hunting is most likely going to side with Matt. Because of a fair few good reasons. 1. Public land gets more hunted and therefore makes it a little harder for the public land guy. 2. Putting hunting in the mainstream causes a lot of city folk exposure. City folk just aren’t USUALLY raised the same or have the same lessons young. 3. You get the backlash of anti-hunters. (This is a MAJOR one). There’s a REAL problem with the way Matt thinks tho, if you don’t have alot of passionate hunters… hunting will get to a point where they can ban parts of it to appease the city lunatics and no-one is there to push back.
Matt is such a loser. Just wants to gatekeep new hunters because he's an old school one way or no way type of person. He sounds so bitter that his brother is successful and receives praise from so many other hunters meanwhile he's a fucking nobody.
There is a huge disconnect now in the hunting world, people don't realize hunters still support their families by putting meat on the table, not just trophy hunters
I grew up hunting and fishing been at it for 40 years and I'm telling you that hunting is a dieing tradition. I think that's a shame so I'm all for promoting the outdoors in a positive way and Steve is a great ambassador for the movement.
This guy looks like a slightly older and more out of shape Steve….like if Steve lost his zest for life about 6 years ago, and had since been binge drinking and just hanging out on the couch.
According to the research that I just saw hunting numbers have went up and recent years, but are still down from the all-time high, which was in like 1982. There are roughly 1,000,000 or so hunters less than they used to be. And the data shows that hunters are declining.
Steve Rinella is my hero. My dad died when I was 8 and he loved the outdoors and hunting And fishing all of his life. I mean, this man used to go camping for 2 months at a time In Alaska, before I was born. I have pictures and videos to show it but he was in bad health when I was a small child so I didn't get to go with him very many times. If it hadn't been for Steve, I still may know nothing about all the things that my father love to do because he wasn't around to teach me.
Every human being in the world has the right to hunt. Most do not. To take a stance verbally as it pertains to not glorifying hunting because there will be "too many who hunt" is insanely ridiculous.
I understand Matt spot, but had there been a reversal in the declining numbers of hunters? Last I looked, the involvement was trending down. There was a bump during Covid, but overall, numbers have been on the decline. We need people to be able to fight to keep our way of life, lands, rights etc. I see Matt's point, but it's also somewhat selfish and short sighted.
Whoever this guy is and Steve’s brother are just using Steve’s name to get attraction online and seem relevant. His brother probably needs money and attention.
A guy complaining about hunting social media influencers, while complaining about it on a social media influencer podcast! – FYI Love Steve and his crew!

Imagine gatekeeping hunting like a fudd

End of the day all tv hosts who hunt it’s about money
He sounds like Harry from Dumb and Dumber 😂

Makes me so sad. I LOVED when Matt would be on the podcast with Steve and the guys. Wondering where Danny stands

What is their difference of opinion? Just curious.
I still don't understand why Matt and Steve are not close, why are they estranged?. What happened??
Why wasn’t this clip in the pod???

What's the point of this clip when it explains nothing?
Steve is awesome. Matt is a tool.
I grew up hunting and fishing been at it for 40 years and I'm telling you that hunting is a dieing tradition. I think that's a shame so I'm all for promoting the outdoors in a positive way and Steve is a great ambassador for the movement.
One of them is a go getter and makes stuff happen the other is just a complainer
Awh is someone jealous of their brother?
This guy looks like a slightly older and more out of shape Steve….like if Steve lost his zest for life about 6 years ago, and had since been binge drinking and just hanging out on the couch.
Is this podcast about hunting or drama? Kind of a shitty thing to ask about imo.

wtf are they talking about? there's no context here.
Didnt Cain kill Abel. Its a tale as old as time. I dont even hunt and love Steve.

Matt wouldn't even be relevant to the conversation if it wasn't for Steve so.
That's what these guys should do. " walk away completely"
Yet, here they are talking about hunting for the world to see.
