@New York Rangers

This was beyond pathetic

The New York Rangers shut out the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-0 in their season opener on October 9, 2024. Igor Shesterkin was the star of the night, making 29 saves for his 16th career NHL shutout. Chris Kreider led the Rangers’ offense with two goals, while Alexis Lafreniere added a goal and an assist. The Rangers built an early lead, with Sam Carrick scoring just 2:24 into the game. Despite Pittsburgh’s efforts, they couldn’t find a way past Shesterkin, while the Rangers continued to pile on the goals, including a short-handed goal by Kreider. Tristan Jarry made 35 saves for the Penguins, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Rangers’ dominant performance

  1. It was reminiscent of the Rangers against the Capitals in last years playoffs.

  2. I keep getting shouted down every time I bring up that Jarry is an INFERIOR goalie. Yes I know our defense is weak AND lazy…but every single time I've watched the Pens – and that's a LOT – Jarry just disappoints. Sorry it's a fact…as long as Jarry is our goalie , we are going to keep missing the playoffs and/or definitely the Cup…and this HURTS because I've been a loyal Pens fan since the Lemieux / Jagr days.

  3. Third line is going to carry us to the cup. The new and improved Kid Line was insane tonight.

  4. this only tops oilers cuz its was all 5 on 5, the called back goal, AND Jarry stopped like 4 shouldve-been goals tbh oh and no empty netters either OR backup put in

  5. Yeah I Fr just skipped this game as I’m not surprised this was gonna happen lol rangers are gonna be good

  6. As a Rangers fan, this is a good sign for me. To Pens fans, you got rid of Hextall and Jeff Carter, which is a good start. The Penguins need to get younger, not sure what they have in Wilkes Barre-Scranton but Mike Sullivan, David Quinn and the rest of the coaching staff will get these guys on the right track, it's one game. I'm sure we'll be seeing you again in the near future.

  7. Sullivan refuses to give what few talented young guys they have a prominent role cause they aren't "responsible defensive players" yet while watching Malkin, Letang and Karlsson be turn over machines 😂

    It's one thing to get old, its another thing entirely to refuse to accept it and adjust. Glad the Pens didn't wait long to let ms know not to care this year

  8. Penguins and Devils who got former Leafs personnel are gonna suck. Don't hire Laffs castoffs.
