That was sub-optimal. The Jets blank Connor McDavid and the Oilers 6-0 in what was maybe the worst home opener the Oilers have had since 2013. A terrible game from beginning to end, I am not going to over analyze this one… However if the team loses on Saturday there is going to be big problems. #oilers #edmontonoilers #nhl

Hey bud. Since it’s not the playoffs I’m not on the bandwagon yet, but I’ll be checking in after every game to get your thoughts either way and keep tabs on how the team is playing. At least one team in Alberta should have playoff aspirations.
If there was an analytic for “emotion” the management team would’ve added in that department lol….it seems as if certain players that were deemed expendable for most might’ve played a bigger role in things going well for the team as a whole than we realized. I think they missed both Foegle and McLeod tonight and also Ceci.
It might take time for this group to gel but most concerning to me was it seemed Knoblauch was out coached and had no answers systematically to stop Winnipeg from generating speed in their transition game.
Everybody is overlooking the Jets. I don't mind. This team made hardly any changes over the off sesason. They finished 2 wins shy of finishing first last season, OVERALL! So keep overlooking and take the night off this bye victory for all Jets opponents, as Hellebuyk chases his 3rd Vezina.
