The REAL reason Dillon Gabriel left Oklahoma.
Is Brent Venables to blame for Dillon Gabriel heading to Oregon?

We don’t care about Dillon
Y’all show is trash later
A BETTER HEAD COACH!?!? what the hell .
Exactly they didn't want to lose Arnold to the portal who has a higher nil deal I suspect then Gabriel did
Once Lebby left it was no coming back for Gabriel. Only reason he came to Oklahoma in the first place.
I really don't understand why people are pushing this narrative. Dillon has explicitly stated what happened on multiple occasions publicly. He was not forced out, he wanted to go to the NFL and got a bad grade. He didn't want to do more harm than good to the program at Oklahoma by staying and he wanted to be closer to home. People are making this a much bigger issue than it is.
I think you are going to find out how much quality qb play can affect the entire offense. You will see how much… "what's his name", will improve the play of every position on that side of the ball
Oh… and btw, BV is not being totally honest about DG. If he really wanted DG, he would not be wearing green this year.
Like most… BV was also blinded by the stars.
This entire situation you are describing with the OU coach himself and coaching staff glows with inexperience. Gabriel is a classic example. Why couldn't OU have hired an experienced head coach program builder and not a decades old career assistant coach? The reason is Bob Stoops (the real head coach) can control BV; he can't control somebody like a Lane Kiffin.
I have a great idea … why don’t you 2 find something to talk about besides OU because it’s apparent don’t know s#*@ about OU
Gabriel is a heck of a college QB, he will make Oregon a real threat to win Big10
Even with Gabriel, OU knew they were not going to make playoffs this year, so get arnold experience and use Gabriel NIL dollars on Dominic Williams. Strategic decision by OU.
Dillon would have got killed behind this atrocious Oline.
Haha a better coach based on what?
Simply put: Brent Venables only could have the one horse in that stable and he put his money into the younger horse thinking it would be the better long term investment. Turned out to be the wrong pick… but at the time it made sense.
Gabriel told everyone that he was going to the NFL. When that didn't happen, he transferred. His coach was gone, he's closer to home, it's a better situation in Oregon, and he didn't want to hold up Jackson Arnold getting his shot.
You gotta love all the people who aren't even in the state of Oklahoma deciding that they were a fly on the wall and know exactly what happened, though. I guess just making stuff up gets more clicks?
why did gabriel leave oklahoma? easy, he is afraid of playing in the sec.
Money does NOT Buy happiness!!! D.G. is HAPPY at OREGON.Listen to his recent interview.
Dillion is a hack, he's just like Arnold, defence gave him chances he couldn't produce, good riddance , damn he's been playing for 7 years, hes not even in med. school.
Dillion gabriel wasn't good he can't throw deep balls I'm glad he left
The narrative that Oklahoma's offense had no weapons going into the season is just false. Gabriel did not know what this offense was going to look like. I don't believe in making excuses based on injuries for the outcome of a game, but when the results are used to disparage a coach 4 games into a season the facts need to be presented clearly. Oklahoma expected to have a massive stable of weapons heading into this year. They have been down 4 of their top 5 receivers for practically all 3 games. Guys like Jayden Gibson (6'5" 196), Nic Anderson (6'4" 216), Jalil Farooq (6'1" 210) and Andrel Anthony (6'1" 186"). These guys were experienced guys who Gabriel had last year and there was no expectation that they wouldn't be available. Unfortunately, they are all hurt. Gibson blew a knee in fall camp. Anderson has a hammy issue sidelined him in fall camp. Farooq looked good in the first few drives of the first game but then broke his foot. Anthony has not been able to get back onto the field yet after his injury last year against Texas. Burks is the only guy out there with any experience. The only one Gabriel would have had doubt about would have been Anthony.
Gabriel seems to be a good dude, so I take him at his word until he proves me wrong. Same goes for Venables.
For those unaware, people often rely on 'I heard' or conjecture. But for OU fans who closely followed the situation, Dillon Gabriel made it clear before and throughout the season that 2023 would be his last, and he told Coach Venables he was heading to the NFL.
It wasn’t until after the regular season, when Gabriel received his draft grade, that he reconsidered and chose to continue playing college football, transferring to be closer to his family. Brent Venables had no reason to believe otherwise, as Dillon had repeatedly said this was his final season.
Furthermore, in a recent interview, both Dillon and his mother confirmed that one of the reasons he left OU was to not stand in the way of Jackson Arnold. Dillon’s friends echoed the same sentiment in their interviews.
Without this context, the situation is easily spun into drama for ratings. But if you knew all of this and still chose that narrative, you’ve lost credibility with the Oklahoma fanbase for the sake of cheap ratings.
Does aaron ever not smile? Gotta love the guy.
The only mistake made here is Sooners were mistaken that JA would develop. What’s wrong with telling any player they will have to compete for a job. DG was great. We thought JA would be great.
Nobody expected JA to fall apart and regress but sadly he has. He will probably be great when he transfers. Reality is we lost our Oline, transfers haven’t been good, the whole groups banged up, play calling has been questionable at times and when the right calls have been made JA misread dozens and dozens of them in 4 games. When we got everything right receivers have dropped passes or our TE misses key block and blows up the play. It’s been a comedy of errors…Lastly if we had last years offense with this defense we would be a top 5 team. The whiplash of having one side or the other playing good is making my neck hurt. That said I like BV and am thrilled with defensive improvement. I’ll give him plenty of years of trying Ocs to find the right one. Hopefully 🙏 Litrell and Hawkin can get it going bc obviously offensively everyone’s ass and job are on the line.
Hey guys, why don’t you just ask Gabe Ikard what actually happened instead of speculating incorrectly.
Gabriel told the team that it was his last season before the season with expectations to go to the NFL. OU put in contingency plans. The draft grade was a surprise. The offense has been decimated by injuries and we lost some key pieces that were not expected to leave. With this defense it wouldn’t take a top ten offense to be successful. Insinuating that Venables isn’t a good coach because we lost to a good Tennessee team by ten points with third string offenses linemen and third string wide receivers, and a five star quarterback who wasn’t able to handle the pressure is a ludicrous take.
Hey what's the Bama Geogia score
lol the weapons? They don’t have there too 5 WRs but yeah the freshman don’t look that good.
Nah man, this seems like wild speculation
