Good. Jarry certainly hasn’t earned it being “his” crease so play who’s currently better.
For all his fault, Sullivan has never been reluctant to do that.

Ride the hot hand. He played really well against Detroit so let’s see more of it.

He earned it, and so did Jarry. The team was rotten against the Rangers but it is okay for a goalie occasionally bail teams out if they are floundering. Jarry isn’t a stabilizer, he’s a destabilized

Jarry has proven to be pretty mentally tough in situations like these. Handled Ned well last year. Ride the hot hand and hope Jarry can come out with a stunner against the Canadiens.

Against the Leafs we will need more than just him to show up … Especially in their barn

Is this the earliest point in a Penguins season that a goaltending controversy has started? I’m just curious.

Right call. Jarry may right himself but we should always ride the hot hand

Everybody gonna be very disappointed when Joel has another great game and is sent down to ahl tomorrow because Ned is healthy

I’m so happy they did this. We know what Jarry will give you might as well see what Blomqvist can do
Jarry’s goals saved above expected is +0.6, Blomqvist +0.4.
I’m not saying Blomqvist didn’t deserve the start tonight, he played really well and Penguins are probably focused on letting him ride that high of getting his first career win.
Just tired of seeing our fanbase bash Jarry. If Jarry had a positive goals saved above average after giving up 6 goals, that speaks a lot of volumes on how the team played in front of Jarry against the Rangers.
Tired of seeing the goaltenders take the fall when the players in front of them play like shit.

This isn’t a goalie controversy, obviously Blom played well, but it’s game management related. Normally the right call is to play the backup against the team you figure to lose anyway in a back-to-back situation, and Blom is coming off a great game so that skews the decision even more toward playing him in case he steals a win.

Good on Sully. I feel like risk-averse Sully of two seasons ago wouldn’t have done this.

I also wonder, knowing how much Dubas likes Blomqvist, how much is this the GM getting him one more start before Nedj returns so that we can see what we have.

I’m new still but from the previous game I believe Blomqvist did quite well, especially when the Wings were peppering the goals in the first period! Go young fella

I love the decision. They wanted to give him another year to develop. This is showing him that he has a seat at the table if he earns it. I think he’s the best goaltender out of the 3. Definitely has the highest ceiling. So show him the carrot and let’s see how he handles the pressure.

Good to hear. Jarry isn’t our #1. He’s not.

Looks like Jarry may be done here
