I think if Toc needs to sit out Heinen or Sprong, he should…let Bains come in, he played well during the preseason. Lekkerimaki may be an option as well. Sad seeing Petterson doing the work that he should have been doing during the off season. The guy needs to bulk up 20lbs. if he wants to go to the next level of his career. Sad to see a player who doesn't get it.

Heres my hot take.. Vancouver should have kept zadorov on a 5m contract dont sign Desharnais (2m cap hit) and traded soucy (3.25m cap hit) for a cheap okay defenceman. let the top 2 pairings do most of the work.
EP is the next OEL. I can’t stand the 8-year contracts. More than half of them end up being busts. 8 years is such a long time. In a perfect world, I think the max contract length should be 3-4 years. The home team can sign a player to 4 years. Any other team can “steal” that player with a max 3 year contract. Every player is a UFA after their initial entry level contract. This way, players are always trying their best to earn that next contract.
Canucks will be fine, they just need to make the playoffs which is a layup in that division, if they miss the playoffs then you worry
