Worth a call-up?

They probably want to wait for him to work with the coaches in the AHL and learn the systems first. Could see him later on this season.

That’s pretty sweet. Excited to see him inaction this season.

At this stage I think you let him get work in with Abby, and the development staff.

If one of Soucy/Forbort is out of the lineup, then it’s worth a callup.

Cautiously optimistic. I wonder how bad his camp went for COL to sour on him so quickly

He made ex-Canuck legend Travis Hamonic play even better? Put him in coach

If any team actually wanted him Colorado wouldnt have dumped him for less than nothing. He’s an analytics darling but he hasn’t got any of the 32 GMs buying what he’s selling.

If we call him up then try to send him back down he will get claimed in my opinion

I think it’ll be only a matter of time before he gets called up imo. I’m really excited that we got him.

unless you’re switching Soucy to the right side or something i don’t see how he can play given that Forbort is the main PKer. this coaching staff practically never plays anyone on their off-side, i doubt a right side injury is going to be the reason he plays

haven’t looked at stats to back this up, but I’d imagine that a big part of this is Brannstrom being used in sheltered & offensively slanted situations

still.. there’s a great chance of him spending a good part of the year in the AHL rounding out his defensive game with great coaching and all-situations minutes, then coming back with a chip on his shoulder and being a very pleasant surprise
