Got goalied. At least Gru had a great game! I hope Dunn is back soon and that the PP figures things out…

  2. Left4Bread2

The highlights of this game for me were the penalty kills and the fact that watching this prevented me from wasting time on Giants Bengals

Anyway time to go waste some time on Giants Bengals see you all Tuesday

  3. Olbaidon

Yet again we didn’t win, but…

For **the first time** in the 2024 regular season we have a menu…put together by none other than the German Gentleman himself **GRUUUU!**

    That’s right!

#IT LOOKS LIKE .900+ IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS AND GIRLS!!

  4. surfingeagles

Grubstepped up big, but man are those guys tired. Would be nice to have some extra players on the roster to sub in with fresh legs!!

  5. imthepits

Still not sure what our system is after 3 games

Grubauer was solid. Will never understand why Francis only added Stephenson to this forward group. It’s not good enough. Tick tock, Ron.

Too many giveaways, the D needs work, and we need higher quality shots on net.

The easiest narrative from tonight is to focus on the 2nd Dallas goal, and Grubauer was 100% not correctly positioned for it. There is a worrying trend of the Kraken giving up goals in bunches that the coaches and players need to fix ASAP.

But that’s not why the Kraken lost. Through 2 games, the Kraken have given Grubauer 2 total goals in support. You’re just not going to win games with that kind of offensive output no matter who is in net unless they are literally giving you shutouts every night.

I think Grubauer was legitimately good the last 2 periods. Multiple breakaways and other dangerous chances and he kept the game close. This was a winnable game in large part thanks to Grubauer.

Moving off our goalies, the Kraken have got to figure out how to generate more chances on opponents’ goalies. This is not a goalie who should be shutting a team that thinks of themselves as a playoff hopeful.

I need to see the Kraken PP use the middle shooter more. Get that guy the puck and let him rip some pucks on the net. Maybe they go in, maybe there is a juicy rebound. Even if they don’t result in a goal, the PK now has to respect that guy more which opens up other opportunities.

All that said, this was a pretty decent effort against possibly the best or 2nd best team in the conference and a likely Cup contender after flying long distance from a game the night before. There are positive things to build on for the future. The Kraken aren’t going to win all the games against top teams like Dallas, so they need to get business done against lower end teams consistently which they failed to do last season. Especially with Dunn out, overall they played well against a great team.

Looking ahead, their next 3 games this week are against Nashville, Philly, and Calgary. I think 2 wins/4 points is the minimum expectation if this team is going to be serious about making the playoffs.

Honestly only good thing I enjoyed were the breakaway stops by Gru.

The offense couldn’t connect tonight. Dallas kept everything to the outside. Gru had one goal he probably could have stopped, but otherwise, he prevented it from being an even bigger shut out.

Seattle Kraken offense, brought to you by Skyrizi: 🎶Nothing is everything!🎶

  12. Go_Hawks12

Well that was depressing, sure they were tired but still. Can’t even score on DeSmith, who barely had to try it seems like. Everytime we play the stars we just look completely outmatched. Gru did everything he could to give us a chance

Beniers (outside that one chance) and Schwartz have basically been invisible.

  13. thertp14

Offense just didn’t pack a punch today. Gru would love to have that second goal back, but overall he played really well.

  14. xyz75WH4

I only caught the 3rd on the radio broadcast and seemed like they played their best hockey during that period.

Again. Seems like this team struggles with consistency and offense (especially in generating dangerous shots). It’ll be interesting to see as the season goes on if a healthy Burky, Wright and the addition of Stephenson can add some much needed firepower to our forward lines.

On the other hand Dallas has a cup contender team here so not sure what else we expected.

80-2-0…? Yes I will not give up the dream!!

  17. sandwich-attack

it’s hard to blame any single person for this loss but for me, i blame god

    3 ⭐️s of the Game:

⭐️Philipp Grubauer – the second goal he gave up was pretty soft, but he made timely saves in difficult circumstances, which isn’t an area he typically excels in. He definitely kept us in the game.

⭐️Brandon Montour – played heavy minutes with Dunn out, held his own defensively

⭐️Jared McCann – whiffed on a high danger scoring chance, but made plays on the PK (excellent diving clear in the 1st period) and other than not getting on the score sheet he looked good out there

  19. _MMCXII

The result is not what has me frustrated it’s the complete lack of offensive cohesion, and inability to handle aggressive defensive play. Grubauer letting through at least one stinker is priced in IMO, and he more than made up for it on the three breakaways.

Plain and simple, the offensive zone play needs to at least show a trend towards improvement. There needs to be some endgame form they are working towards.

  20. juanthebaker

I don’t love that the Gourde/Tanev/Kartye line is looking like our most effective line a lot of the time and we more or less have to trade one of them.

  21. nearest_exit_please

I’m dying to get Montour to the back of the net. He was on one this game. Dallas checked really well, and I feel like the Kraken are still trying to find their rhythm. They could be what Nashville was last year, slow start, but find the wheels mid-season.

  22. tonjohn

The kraken are scoreless & winless since the belt!

  23. BucksBrew

We lost, but it was to a team we are supposed to lose to. No problem. I’m not a Gru fanboy at all but thought he had a solid game. On to the next one! Go Kraken!

  24. tonytanti

I blame Dunn, dude was invisible tonight.

  25. I was at the game, first ever NHL game. Kinda stinks we couldn’t pull off a win

  26. Marxbrosburner

Well…that sucked. On to the next one!
