I am going to become the Joker

And I’m not talking the other MVP

  2. The_Shredder_1988

What a joke. There’s nothing to defend, he’s playing like shit

  3. rwags2024

I understand defending him because he has to

But he’d better not continue to start him

  4. DocPsycho1

It’s 2 games in, and he is our guy. Better to get that rust and bad play stay out now. GAME 2 plenty of season left.

  5. Unfair_Turnip00

I want to unsubsidize from this season already. And I am an Iowa football fan. We need a goalie.

  6. ThunderGoalie35

Bedsy has to say this right

Even though it’s just like, not real right

  7. One_Curious_Cats

If you lose a game you shouldn’t start the next game. Period, the end.

Gotta wonder is Parkkilla is in hot water too. It’s his job to make sure these guys are ready, because it’s not just Georgie struggling.

IIRC the Oilers were bad at the start of last season, sacked their coach and still made the Stanley Cup finals.

    Anything can happen

Edit: I was NOT implying that the coaching is bad or that we sack Bednar. I was just pointing out the Oilers come back to make the Finals after a disastrous start to the season. Just shows you anything is possible.

The good news is that we win both these games if our goaltenders are just OK. The bad news is I don’t know if Georgie has it in him to be reliably OK. The FO seems to agree as they have already grabbed a new guy. If things don’t improve I wouldn’t be surprised to see a trade of some sort happen.

  11. EdDantes21

Options are limited. Annunen (and probably) Kahkonen will get chances. Barring a trade, the best thing Bedsy can do for the good of the team is try to keep Georgiev’s confidence up and hope he returns to some semblance of form.

  12. Careful_Knee_2489

Has somebody tried reminding him that it’s a contract year, and he is on pace to maybe get a KHL PTO.

  13. Western-Cat9237

Knee jerk reaction, it’s time to make a splash and trade for someone like Gibson, if available. To make cap space work that will probably require including someone important in the trade along with Georgie, unless we’re willing to mortgage our future by giving up more picks. But we can’t waste another year of our players prime with shit goaltending

  14. I know he isn’t playing well but some people are going too far. This reminds me of the situation with Girard. I hope he has a good support system right now.

Georgie’s problem forever has been his wild inconsistency. You never knew who you were going to get. It’s always why I didn’t like him but at least he was inconsistent. I went to the game last night and he looked especially lost out there. I feel pretty bad for him actually.

If I got pulled twice in a row I would want to crawl into a hole and die especially since you have to sit out there and think about it. He didn’t take his helmet off for the rest of the first period. Nobody said anything to him even when he was on the ice but I don’t get to go to many games so I don’t know if that’s normal.

Yeah never gonna see bedsy go out and trash his goalie publicly. It’s just never a good idea. I wanna see juice start next game. Has he been great? No, but he’s been called in cold to both games and I just want to see what he does with a start. If there’s nothing there, give kappo the net. Juice is young & can continue to develop in a backup role. He has a much longer leash, at least in my mind and feel like there’s so much potential with him.

I am absolutely bemused with Georgiev’s swings though. Dude has a pretty solid first season here, especially with it being his first season as a starter struggles last year all regular season and honestly was good in the playoffs after that first game. Now he’s looking worse than ever. I just don’t get it. I wanna root for the guy, but he’s making it hard to.

  17. krazeone

How many more games do people need to watch to see he is absolutely terrible. How many times has he let in 1 of the 1st shots, let alone 2 of the first 3 shots in? He sucked last season, he sucked in the preseason he’s sucked the first 2 games of the season..

  18. I_Fart_It_Stinks

If it’s a mental thing, it’s been going on for a season amd a half now. He needs to get it fixed, whether it’s a mental or physical issue. This is unacceptable. What, is someone going to just snap their fingers and Georgie will remember how to play goalie?

  19. I_Fart_It_Stinks

I know we’re only two games in, but with Nuke out, no real timeline for Landy, Lehky already injured, and no goaltending, just doesn’t feel like our year

  20. notthatguypal6900

He’s been given nothing but chances and fails at every turn. If players are already discussing frustration 2 games in, you know the locker room is already done with him.

  21. Chico-or-Aristotle

What else is he going to do?

  22. NinjaBuddha13

As he should. Dont air the dirty laundry or team drama for the public to see. As the coach, he needs to support his team to the press and public. He needs the team to work together and the best way to sabotage that is to single out one of his players publicly. Praise publicly, admonish privately. Thats leadership 101.

  23. Coryperkin15

Is it me or does Giorgi look scared of the puck?

When a shot from close comes in, he does that hunch and his helmet angles down. That usually happens when a goalie is flinching or closing his eyes. The accuracy of his stops seems to indicate the latter.

  24. Neat_River_5258

Maybe the Rangers won’t pay Shesterkin what he’s worth and he’ll move on 🙂

  25. I mean i don’t expect Bednar to just rip Georgiev but if he keeps playing and having to pull Georgiev i can only assume he is speed running getting fired

  26. pfalcon42

Georgie wasn’t great, consistently getting beat at the Blue line is what’s killing um.

  27. No_Possession_8585

Well the fans booed him when they introduced the team last night. Do I have a ton of faith in our goaltending? No… but I don’t think booing Georgie at home before the game even starts is gonna get him in a good head space. I trust Bedsy and Joe. He’ll come through. We need him too… real bad.
