The Oilers players, to a man, look like dogs who have been kicked too often. They look down, depressed, with no energy. I really do not think there is a switch to flick that magically makes them start winning several games in a row. It is going to take starting to play better in smaller doses within games, playing good D, making decent passes, attacking the net. In the meantime, more losses will probably pile up. The Oil also have a real lack of grinders, hitters, bangers, muckers, and the ones that they have are too old to do it for a full game – and that's not the recipe to a winning team. We shall see how things turn out, but I, like most, am disgusted right now.
Dolynny, you are in a different dimension. If you are a player and have played on a winning championship team, you know how it feels, what it takes. Don't you think the players know this too? If you know that your team does not have what it takes to be the champions, to win the stanley cup, how about that? To know you've lost before you even get on the ice. To know that your management just gave away one of the best PK teams in history. To know that your management just gave away a 1st round draft pick for nothing. For nothing!!!!! To know that your goalie is not good enough. And on and on. This is what is wrong, this is why the Oilers are F*cked.

Feels better when you bet on the other team, put 50 on Chicago and Bedard to score a goal and won 400 last night, tonight I put 250 on Calgary and cashed out 800. Sure helps with handling these lost games right now, lol
You have to realize this team is not and will not be what you all thought it would be…No 1A goalie, no top pairing D !!! Older and a very slow team !!! All spells bottom feeding team this year !!!
Absolutely agreed with you. Couldn't wait for the season to start. Hopefully they will show some urgency. Hope they remember that the pre season is over. Cheers.
Watched the game live on TV from Australia. Same old story. Poor team defence. And several times where players had good looks on goal but constantly decide to give the extra pass – always trying to get the picture perfect goal. Just get pucks on net and follow up with some grit and get some scrappy goals
All that talk about being predicted Stanley cup winners this season may have clouded the minds of the players because they are playing like these points are already banked before the puck drops
They're overcomplicating things. It needs a simpler approach. And then, in the third, it's like, come on guys… I get it, it's only the third game, but do we really need this kind of frustration every autumn? Maybe this is just who Edmonton is—terrible starts leading to better outcomes in the end. So, take your time, give up another 20 games, and then finally bring the Cup home.

I was afraid this would happen. Draisatl not performing because he's too rich now. Mcdavids play is pretty weak too. This team is way too top heavy.
