We’re a week into the NHL season so I hate to already be complaining about officiating but in last nights Seattle Kraken vs Minnesota Wild game, I saw not just questionable officiating but one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in an NHL game. While the Wild got off to a hot start with a 2 goal lead, they had a brutal stroke of luck in the 2nd period. Not only did Larsson catch Eriksson Ek with a nasty elbow that saw him leave the game, not 5 seconds later the ref made a horrendous call. Tanev and Brodin went down along the boards in what was an obvious trip by Tanev but not only did he not get called, it was actually Brodin who got called for tripping! Of course, Seattle would then go on to score a controversial goal that went off the skate of Eberle in what could be seen as a kicking motion. It was just a terrible sequence for the Wild in general but I cover that and the rest of the game in todays NHL hockey video!

It doesn't matter which teams are playing, the refs make 4-5 either bad calls or bad no calls!
It happens every game! 🤷♂
my opinion 🦂
Gary Bet365man at it again.
Refs must be betting on this game. That was TERRIBLE.
gambling…
Kerry Frazier back
all pro sports are rigged
WHAT???
penalty was bs, and dude took a skate to the face, that goal was kicked in.
In your "I had to watch these more than once" Playlist, can you fix so the latest video is on the top instead of the bottom, woop!
It's a prerequisite for the job that you must be an actual retrd to be an NHL ref.
Poor officiating for sure!
The officiating this season so far has been terrible in every game I've watched (regardless of what teams are playing). They need to implement a system where the refs can review a replay for any reason. The NHL keep saying it would ruin the flow of the game, but the flow is already ruined by all these bad calls. It would take perhaps and extra 20-60 seconds to validate or invalidate the call. Any ref or linesman should be able to say, "hey, we should check that call" (and question the call of a colleague – which they already do for certain calls) and as long as one official asks for it, it must be reviewed.
I don't know what the exact answer is to the problem, but something needs to be done because the sport of hockey is getting ruined by stupid rules and even stupider calls.
As a huge Wild fan, f those calls
It's nice to see that Angel Hernandez landed on his feet after his retirement from MLB.
This is what sports betting gets us
Ever since betting on games in Las Vegas, officials are questionable, in my opinion .
I was forced to watch the game with Kraken's announcers, and they thought every single call against them was the worst thing ever, and visa versa. It was pretty ridiculous, honestly. I understand some homer-ism, but it was out of hand. Made the game a little less enjoyable.
Even as a kraken fan, idk why we keep on being part of horrible calls, and along with that, this is a horrible call. But, we win soooooooooooooo
REF YOU SUCK!!!!!
Ref would have called it correctly but he wasn’t watching the game
wow. refs blew that one.
looks like the skate rode up into the face
They needed the regulation win going into a b2b on the road the next night in Winny… brutal
Cry about it great call go hawks
I swear hockey players need to start wearing something around there face to is protective three face there is way to many injuries in hockey when it comes to the face it happens all the time
Either allow challenges or don't. Shouldn't be such a thing as a play that cannot be challenged.
This one resulted in a Seattle goal in a game that was decided in a shootout.
I mean, why challenge that goal after that garbage officiating….
Gambling in sports will make every call suspect. Pro sports don't care because greed is rampant and integrity is nowhere to be seen.
Not only did they get the call right, but it should have been five and a game with possible expulsion from hockey.
It looked like he deliberately tried to kick his opponent in the face with his skate.
That's the way I see it.
Connor McDavid was also kicked with a skate tonight and no call.
Get that right out of the game.
Honestly feel so bad for minnisota they deserve at least a decent playoff run
What's the point of watching any major American sports league anymore?
It wouldn't be so bad if the refs would just review the fucking thing and say "my bad, no penalty on the play" or something, but no it's always just doubled down. These awful calls just GIFT free goals and literally skew outcomes of games. The league needs to do better than this crap.
ALL penalty calls need to be able to be challenged…a call that bad is INEXCUSABLE and sullies the sport !!
Listen. I’m a ref myself. It is really hard to ref perfectly. But this is inexcusably bad
I no longer watch any live NHL games. These YouTube videos are all I need to get my "fill" of hockey.
Hanlon's razor is an adage or rule of thumb that states: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Deffinitely applicable here, and in most cases of bad officiating.
