    Rielly-Tanev

    OEL-McCabe

    Benoit-Liljegren

    Timmins-Myers

    Hakanpaa

No Tavares (illness) or Woll (lower body) at main practice, though Woll working out alone.

Craig realizing that Timmins is bad confirmed

Let’s see if he can rise to the occasion

As he should. If you want to keep him you need to play him and if you want to trade him and want anything back you need to showcase him because nobody’s trading any actual assets for a 7th D who hasn’t played this season.

I wish that they would just go back to Benoit-McCabe and run a sheltered 3rd pairing of OEL-Lily

  6. Timmins still sucks so I’m all for giving him a chance.

Hope to god he can actually do something with it. He’s on his last legs here in Toronto I’d imagine, with no management or coaching staff remaining with any connection to him.

At 3M he’s gonna need to be better than a decent-good yet replaceable third pairing guy to stick much longer.

This is your chance. Timmins is garbage…prove it to your coach and all of the Lilly truthers out there that you can beat this guy out and earn your spot. Now or never.

Timmins was in no way an upgrade over Liljegren. I do think I have a soft spot for Lilly, so maybe I’m biased. But I’m really hoping he rises to the occasion

Liljegren is better than timmins, he’s going to show why he’s paid 3 mil

Lilly is best option for regular season. Maybe added weight helps him in playoffs or Hakanpaa if healthy, can take his spot then.

Lilly deserves a chance under Bérubé. I think he has less expectation in the new system. Everyone looks better back there

Plot twist Liljigren and Benoit scratched, Timmins – Myers 3rd pair.

I still don’t get why the new coach would think they need more offensive powered defenseman, we really don’t lmao.

For what it’s worth, this lineup —

    Knies – Matthews – Marner
    Robertson – Domi – Nylander
    Pacioretty – Tavares – Jarnkrok
    McMann – Holmberg – Lorentz
    Reaves, Dewar

    Tanev – Rielly
    OEL – McCabe
    Benoit – Liljegren
    Hakanpaa

    Woll
    Stolarz

    — is $780K under the cap and looks like the strongest, deepest team they can ice with the current roster. They’d just need to unload Kampf (whose role has been really reduced under Berube) to make it work.
