In an exciting season opener on October 9, 2024, the Calgary Flames mounted an impressive comeback to defeat the Vancouver Canucks 6-5 in overtime. Despite trailing 4-1 after the first period, the Flames rallied, led by Connor Zary, who scored the game-winner just 92 seconds into overtime. Calgary’s Anthony Mantha also played a key role, scoring a short-handed goal and completing a Gordie Howe hat trick (goal, assist, and a fight). The Canucks had a strong start, with Brock Boeser scoring two goals, but couldn’t hold on as the Flames capitalized on their opportunities to pull off the victory

Stopped watching the Flames game at the end of the first. Was a nice surprise in the morning XD
Western teams are a STRUGGLE to watch here in the Maritimes. Can't be staying up to 2am everyday. And if it's an OT game forget it.
Ah my dude's from Halifax! That's cool! Beautiful place! That Canucks game was a treat, despite the loss. At least they got a point. Would be a real delight if they became a real contender.
I'm totally hoping as a Habs fan Calgary overplays
There 1st round pick top 10 is protected but if they finish 11 or worst it's MTL 😅
alot of shorthanded goals this year? Its been one game dude lol
Its so good to be back.
As a flames fan I've never really had issues with Huberdeaus effort level. I've had plenty of issues with the fact he never produces no matter what he does and will have ridiculously close chances or passing just a hair off, like an easy tap in for Zary last night went right on his skates instead of stick
I mean its a west coast weekday game
keep up the great work man
Despite the loss I have to say the Canucks look like a deeper team then they did last year. But I was still raging at the OT winner…
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Well the west coast hockey games start at 7pm. Same as east coast. Not really trying to make Halifax fans the focus.
Canucks are the most overrated team in the league
Boo-boo on his knee sit down to pee Beta Pettey is the most overrated C in the league
1st period – Cup Contenders
The first 2 or 3 weeks of the season are always so bizarre and freakish.
If Nucks get even slightly below average goaltending they win that game in regulation. Only faced 25 shots and had way more high danger chances than Calgary did.
I see all your work (and your support-guys too!) keep it up, the grind is worth it you can see all the tracktion across your channels, POSSIBLY might think about centralizing, focussing on the one with the most growth and outsourcing some of the others, just for workload share (there is a point where your creativity goes missing when you have too much day-to-day business going on)
Man I couldn’t do it on the east coast!!
When I was in New Brunswick, I couldn’t watch Oilers games and go to work the next day. I’d be hitting 2 am every time.
Wasn’t until my daughter was born and I took PAT leave!!! I’d do 100% baby duty if the oilers were playing!!!
Now I’m 30 minutes from Roger’s place! (8:00 pm local is still ridiculously late to me; and my kids are too young to get to stay up and watch a game.)
Why is a home game not starting at 6:00/6:30 local?!
… I just can't watch the Canucks be the Canucks anymore. That goes for the tonedeaf fans, too.
Yep. Game 1 and the Canucks are already blowing multi-goal leads. 2022-23 redux.
That was an incredible game to be at, even though we lost. The loss stung of course but I wouldn’t expect Calgary to look that good across the whole season but I know I can expect the Canucks to. It was a damn good battle, and that tying goal was up there with some of our comebacks in the post season last year.
Great to hear you are from Halifax. Same here. Getting back between the pipes this year after over 20 years away from the game. Love your vids!
Huby is projected to get 82 goals 💪💪💪
