I’m a diehard nuggets fan and I can’t wait for the season to start next week, but I have a sneaky feeling they are gonna get off to the same start as the Avs. Between the weird good / bad limbo with the broncos, the Avs struggling to start the season, and the nuggets general uncertainty, the energy seems off with Denver sports right now. I hope I am proved wrong.
These first three games have been absolutely brutal to watch. I felt bad for Georgiev in this one. He made some really nice saves and had some terrible luck on that poke check. He still wasn’t good enough, but the team in front of him was way worse.
A new franchise anti-record! After conceding 20 pucks through the first three games of the season, Colorado has set a new franchise record! Even surpassing Quebec when they let in 18 pucks in the first three games of the season in the 1984-85 season.
He needs to watch Fleury poke check. I'd bet MAF swings his stick like a fan. A straight poke only works when the shooter is coming at angle. 40 made two (TWO) terrible pokes this game. This is basic stuff. Doesn't Parkkila know how to teach poke checking?
If Bednar refuses to bench Fourgiev, or make changes, maybe it's time to get rid of him!!
