I wanna throw this idea out there just to see how it works. I will throw Veleno on the second line with Kane and Tarasanko just to see how it works. One game two games.
Husso's last game was in Feb of 2024, that is maybe half a year, but not a year and a half
I don’t feel bad for Husso, i feel bad for the fans such as myself who were fooled into thinking this was our “guy” for the foreseeable future. Just another horrible contract to add to the pile. Just like copp and compher, handed out $ hand over first to unproven players just praying one of them will hit. Husso was a backup that did well in the playoffs, never started a season in his career, and he played bottom of the barrel talent. Time to get real Scotty and Brian, Stevie doesn’t have the crystal ball. Tired of him bluffing in press conferences and being stubborn in the off season. Not gonna say that some of these contracts are tradeable, but christ almighty have we forgotten about the walman trade? It’s been months??? No answers??? He wasn’t gonna be here much longer let’s be honest, but we gave up a 2nd to move him??? Who’s to say that 2nd couldn’t have gotten rid of chiarot or copp or holl? Whose mother did he sleep with?! That cap could’ve gotten us Brett pesche or Brady skjei..even stammer. But then again what could anybody on the internet know about being a gm. My point is, no gm in the league is perfect. Times up Steve, after lalonde is gone it’s only gonna be you to blame. Cant give a defensive minded coach a heaping pile of shit and expect anything out of it. Said it last year and the year before, shitty contracts with shitty term= a shitty future.

Husso being down in the AHL gets you cap space and roster flexibility. I dont really care if he only plays every 3rd game, that's what he's earned.
Husso will only see time if someone gets hurt. He has been garbage. Soooo when edvisson Johansson pairing, I know it’s coming but how long will it take. Holl should be 3rd line ahl and petry might have some gas as a third pairing here.
Im glad you guys mentioned how the goalie situation is a Steve Yzerman created problem. The goalies and the blue line are similar situations, a bunch of below average players that need to be shuffled around and used for roster manipulation simply because they are not good enoughle1 defenseman out of 7 is a legitimate NHLer and lets be honest, this team dosent have a legitimate NHL starting goalie. Bad signings and trades are blocking prospects.
I still think we'll get it together at some point, but I'm a little less optimistic this season than last. We might take a slight step back this season before taking a big step forward.
