Great Video, as usual, Jon. I'm not going to get too excited on An Empty Net Goal, but it's A Step In The Right Direction for Mika Zibanejad
The (concerning) trend that I saw in this game – and this goes back to last year – is a pattern of a decent first period, a complete collapse in the second period, and a third period of finding our game and either taking a comeback win or holding on as best we can and hoping we can make it to the buzzer.
I think that it would be good to give Jonathan Quick a start, if Igor Shesterkin weren't playing so good, in the last game. I'm of the view, that, you're not going to want A Hot Goalie to interrupt his Rhythm. Let me know what you think. I'd like to see it happen after they lose a game with Igor Shesterkin in net.
Also in regards to rempe and similar to ryan reeves.. rempe wants to be on the ice and be on a team that wants him out there too. Dont want to end up in a situation where he may want to leave the rangers bc of healthy scratches and no ice time
I need even strength goals and dominating play from Mika he’s still in the hot seat
Last year the NYR played 3 Oct 2 games in 3 nights. That got Quick involved right away. Then, the big early 5 gm west coast road trip. Rangers go 5-0 again giving the perfect opportunity for Quick to fit right in. That set the tone, and carried throughout the season.
Did he really though? He got lucky Panarin and everyone else passed up an open goal opportunity to let him score it. Other than that, he didn't seem to contribute much. Kreider and Smith played well.
