  1. Mayorga talked trash, dela hoya beat him up in the ring.
someone from Casimeros (not casimero) camp talked trash Donaire cancelled the fight and cried.

  2. I got to say I hated Mayorga dirty talking before the fight, but He had good moments, He put a good fight with Oscar in the first rounds, Oscar De La Hoya was by far a more determined, technical, experienced boxed, with more category.

  3. Came here after seeing the Oscar de la Hoya George Lopez podcast. Oscar said he could have beat him in the first round but he wanted to go more rounds to make mayorga suffer longer. mayorga was talking a lot of stuff to Oscar about his wife and stuff

  4. Mayorga showed crazy heart and guts at the end. He knew he was done and he lost the fight. He still chose to get up and go out swinging. Didn't look for a way out most guys would not have continued in that exact position he was in. I know he talked mad shit and deserved to be handled by Oscar but I still got respect for him.

  5. I can't recall many fights other than this one that was so personal! I loved it; seeing the bully get what he deserved. Easily my top two Oscar fights. The other "shut the bully up" fight was Oscar embarrassing Vargas.

  6. Oscar didn't want the fight to go another round. He was taking some brutal uppercuts from Mayorga.

  7. That guy was the best thing to ever happen to Oscar. Who wouldnā€™t want their own super villain to defeat. He gave Oscar the best moment of his life. I hope he thanked him sometime after because he really should have.

  8. Mayorga was always game but got destroyed by elite opposition. Remember how Trinidad just dismantled this guy. One of the best beat downs I ever saw

  9. All Mayorga could throw were haymakers. No variety in his fighting at all. He also leaves himself wide open when he throws hands. This idiot actually thought he could beat De La Hoya and has won title belts? He is one of the dirtiest fighters I've ever seen on the professional level.

  10. According to boxing experts the way Mayorga carries himself in the ring shows that he didn't maximize his potential not having the best in training and conditioning. He is still unpolished despite his so many fights. He never learned and still repeat the same old bad habits and have not added anything more to his arsenals. If he had been shaped to his maximum abilities and conditioning we will never know how much more he can accomplish rather than just playing the role of the bad boy always fed to be beaten up by the on going legends of his era.

  11. It gets overlooked because of how truly bad of a fighter Mayorga was in comparison, but this was honestly one of the best performances of Oscar's career. His punches were honestly perfect. Incredibly fast, accurate, crisp. He'd hit you with 6 devastating punches in 2 seconds and hop right back out of the box before you even looked up. As highly regarded as he is, I still feel like Oscar is slightly underrated in boxing memory. He was a nightmare in his prime.

  12. The Fan for ever from Germany šŸ‡²šŸ‡½šŸ‡²šŸ‡½šŸ‡²šŸ‡½ā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļøšŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰from the time 1996.

  13. Mayorga tried to fight dirty too intentionally hitting Oscar on the back of the head. Thatā€™s how he knocked out Vernon Forrest in their first fight. Thatā€™s how Andy Ruiz knocked out AJ.

  14. You donā€™t see fights like these anymore. De la Hoya not only could bid but had a chin! A legend as a boxer.

  15. You could tell Oscar was taking his time just blocking everything waiting for the haymakers!! Vengeance best served cold!! Well done De La Hoya!!
