Tocchet On Derek Forbort Situation

Tocchet On Derek Forbort Situation

L on Derek and when do you think he’ll be back uh Derek uh I don’t know yet personal reasons right now but uh I’ll uh we’ll probably talk to them tomorrow just coming off of uh practice day yesterday how are you feeling heading tonight’s matchup oh good talked about a few things worked on a couple things short practice so uh like the energy of the guys today so uh yeah looking toh get back at it what do you want to see from the guys in just that first 20 minutes well I think uh you know play with the puck early on um I like when we establish Obviously good for truck I thought the second and third we started to establish for truck but I think early in the game established play without the puck uh Mark and your guy going through people getting in front of people I think we were a little bit you know we weren’t there the first period And I think that’s got the ball rolling for Tampa but after that I I did like pockets of our game we had some opportunities to to score um couple breakaways you a couple people point blank in front you know I think if you score there it’s a different game and U you know that’s why vasel esy you got to get people in front Conor Garland did have the lone goal for you guys in the last game what can you say about the leader he’s been in the last couple games yeah I mean it seems like every game he’s doing something uh trying to drive play I mean he he’s doing the stuff we ask you know he’s staying close to people he’s coming up with loose pucks you know for a guy that’s small he he sure comes up with a lot of loose pucks um not afraid to take the the net or you know he makes place to other people so yeah he’s been a very positive uh guy for us this year do you believe in like there being coaches for certain players because he seemed to thrive under you previously and now you’re back together yeah he’s played a lot of hockey under me and you know we have a great relationship like he uh you know he’s uh he’s not afraid to ask me questions um you know he uh you know we have a really good relationship you know he knows when he’s not playing well or I know how to push his buttons um and I know when to leave him alone and uh you know it’s just you know being being around him a long time you just know uh I know what kind of player he is in the mental part when you know like I said he’s been last year this year he’s been playing great hockey for me even even in Arizona he scored 20 something goals there um coming up for the miners the rest of my questions are lineup related okay can you tell or you want to wait or uh you know L is play L and what about um I’m not sure about Brat’s if he’s going in yet he came in late last night so we’ll see after and for ratu uh Ratz is not here no who’s in oh Ms yeah is it does he have to show you more now that you’ve kind of established yourself I know it’s a short sample size but which guy Ms yeah now that you’ve kind of establish yourselves as a good penalty killing team and that’s the strengths he brings does he have to show you a little bit more yeah and I think he’s he’s shown pockets of it even this camp and some of the games is being able to hold on to a pocket making a play like it’s I think sometimes when when you know the next level for a guy is you know having a puck and just throwing it back in a cycle now can you make a play out of a cycle can you make a play when you have some time uh other than dump it in I think that’s the next thing for him I think he’s improved from last year on that um I think he there’s a 10 20% better than last year when it comes that so he’s just got to keep working on that plus be good defensively be good penal killer but I think the next thing is there’s plays to be made don’t be afraid to make them is that just believing in himself or um yeah I I think you know when you’re a younger guy you don’t want to make a mistake you know you’re going to play the safe word and and I understand that but I think he knows that you know there’s a there’s a potential three on two you know you got to grab that opportunity you can’t just be satisfied of grabbing it get to the red and then throwing it in I know you said Eric just got in but what are you looking forward to seeing from him when he does get in well Puck moving like you know that’s the one thing we’ve heard even watching some video he can he can get the puck up you know he’s a one pass breakout guy and plus he he walks the Blue Line very well you know when you get a guy that can walk the Blue Line make that one pass out uh just you know to play fast I think that’s something we’re looking for you need to kind of get him in there I mean obviously you only got him a couple weeks ago I mean yeah no there might be an opportunity tonight if he’s in you know we’re not sure the next game but uh definitely like to see what he’s got for us and he has an element that that uh we [Music] like you got to dig in dig in dig in dig the [Music] in or is this 1. The biggest mistake was not resign zadorov. The dude plays a good 2 way game and solid infront of net. Takes penalties. Same time just solid. We too soft infront now.

  2. The title of this video should be "Tocchet has no clue about the Forbort situation." 😂

  3. Was that Shorty in the scrum asking the question about Höggy? I was really feeling for Brendan Batchelor when they had him doing double duty, radio play by play and post game scrum. But Shorty, their #1 play by play guy in the scrum? Boy, Sports Net sure has the suck-tubes stuck to the teets of whoever has been leftover from the purges.

  4. Brock deflected JT's shot between Vasilevskiy's legs, setting up an easy tap-in for the goal-scorer, Garland!
