The amount of force it would take to break that bone like that is insane.
As someone who broke my femur playing basketball (ultimate freak accident) why is a tibia fracture considered career ending? I can run, squat (heavy) and jump essentially the same, but is there a downside to having a rod in your leg long term ( 50 plus years)?

Dude, you’re not going to show it! That’s why we clicked!

Who doesn’t show the injury in an injury video…
Even as a Bears fan you never wanna see things like this 🙁 you wanna beat your opponents at there best. prayers to him for a fast recovery 🙏 💙
Gracias por la información precisa sobre esto; todos estamos ansiosos por su recuperación. Muchas oraciones para tu recuperación, Hutch. ¡Te queremos, hombre!
Breaks tibia and fibula bones. Still scores a sack. What a beast.
Lifelong Lions fan. We're praying for you, Hutch.
Thank you Dr. Sutterer for the thorough and easy to understand explanation of this injury.
By refusing to show the full process of the injury by cutting the video before the injury even occurs, you lose all credibility.
Why not show it? 😂 there's far more gruesome videos on the net than seeing a leg in a sock break. No big deal, didn't look that bad, just bent around a bit.
Stop treating people with kid gloves ffs
Your not showing the injury? People only watch NASCAR for the crashes so I can imagine the only people that are watching you want to see the injuries… Good luck.
You're not going to show the break? What kind of doctor are you. Yall live for this shii
Nba Paul George came back from a injury like this I know nfl is way more physical but hopefully he’s comes back fully healthy… 🐻 down btw
He hurt the second longest bone in the body. This is really bad but good luck to him and his family. He was the best defensive player in the lions team.
Who performs the surgery? The team surgeon/doctor or local hospital?
Thanks for the explanation for the injury and the possible route of treatment.
I broke my shin. Took about a year for it to feel okay, and nowadays it's normal aside from an occasional popping sound. I wish him a speedy recovery and maybe with his multimillion dollar health science doctors he can recover faster than the average person
In Muay Thai combat, that is referred to as a leg/kick check. In essence, you block the kick by raising your shin into the opponent's kick's momentum.
Hello, Humans
Be careful who you let in your life, as most humans are a waste of time.
TERRANCE OUT
Walk it off
HE FINISHED THE SACK?!? 😮😮😮 MONSTER
Hope he recovers well
Thank you for not actually showing it. I wanted the analysis without being grossed out. To add: The calf muscle is the quickest muscle in the body to atrophy from non-use. He'll likely be off of that leg for 6-10 weeks before starting rehab. Then he has to build that strength back up and get his body back up to where it was
I’m smarter than you
If this happened to my upstairs neighbor. Things would be a lot quieter.🤔
As soon as I saw the notification from the NFL app about it, I started anticipating the doc to upload.
From a Vikings supporter, fantastic player, wishing for a full recuperation.
2:20 – when he said i'm not going to show you this leg injury because it's too horrible…. I stopped watching lol – The title of the video is LITTERALLY "Horrible leg injury"!!!!!
God Speed 🙌🙏
This doesn't make much sense. Since the lower side of the tibia was free and not bound by any external force (Joe Theisman) How did so much of the impact get isolated in the middle of said bone? Enough to break solid bone in half. Shouldn't some of the momentum have dispersed itself at the ankle joint or knee joint? Which would still be a bad injury but not this bad.
He's such a good player. This reminded me of when Connor McGregor snapped his leg. Does anyone else remember when Jusuf Nerkic snapped his leg when he was on the Portland Trailblazers? I also saw that one when it happened live… traumatizing to see. My heart sinks. It's almost as if the pain is so bad that i actually feel it when i see it. Maybe it's just me, I have PTSD (from war), when a guy breaks his leg and i see it, I actually have a mild panic attack… I experience what I can only describe as a psychic pain. When i was a teenager, I fell off a roof and snapped my left arm completely in half, (both bones) the bone didn't come out of the skin, but the pain was so severe that i didn't pass out. I went into some kind of trance. The memory of the extreme pain i felt that day has haunted me my entire life. I still have the metal plates in there, and when my arm gets cold, the aching pain returns.
Shut up!!!!
Injuries like these really make me reconsider even being a fan of this sport
Im no doctor at all but he may never play again. If he does he will not be the same player. This is a terrible injury for anyone
0:06 wonder what hurt more, when he broke the leg .. or when Dak fell on the broke leg
weak, i came for the break
You best. Any injuries happen I come to his page to explain it all.
Never stop teaching us. Many thanks, Brain
It made me gringe
When you get slung around pull your legs in. Agility 101 kids
Purple fan, was looking forward to watching Hutch on the post game wrap ups terrorizing oposing teams line. Hope he returns soon, he's one of a kind, an unequaled talent
Absolutely the “break” we needed as a Vikings fan here 🤣
This what's happens when a drop tackle goes the other way…. Saving the offense is killing the defenders which waters down a gladiators sport 😅 which is ironically funny asl… not his injury but how life always reminds me of the double edge sword 😅
This guy lost all credibility when he supported the trans man boxing women
He won't be the same
No calcium . WEAK Person .
OP We’re here to see the break dumbass
