The management and coaches should know to handle and hopefully correct a problem if one exists. Media and speculation should not play a part in helping Pedersen overcome any problems. Is there a problem? I expect Rutherford et all will deal with it..Rick❤

I think it is a mental issue, an emotional state, which professional athletes will face at some point in their career. He is doubting himself and afraid of loosing more selfconfidence and confidence with his peers by failing again, so he is not trusting his natural players impulses. Which screws up his game. We're all in situations like that now and then. I think everybody knows this intuitively and that makes everybody frustrated. I think it's a struggle with the egoic mind and a matter of mental development. He is bravely trying his best, looking for the key, but didn't find it yet. It's a matter of diving into the unknown, just play it out in the moment and not focusing on the risks involved. (Would a jazzsoloist play at his best if if he during his solo started to let his music theories explicitely decide the next note? Would Jaoquin Phoenix be convincing as the Joker if he constantly focusing on what the audience will think, during his performance?) Either you dare to follow your create impulses, risking to fail, or you will not perform at your best, failing at simple things. These are well known issues but of course much worse to handle if you take on too much responsibility and don't allow yourself to be humane. I take it that Vancouver or Pettersson has engaged a topclass sportpsychologist and fixing it with some KBT, but, thenagain, he would have been out of the woods by now if they had..

Everybody in Vancouver announced that he was a "superstar". Remember how well Kuzmenko, also a 1st rounder did for the Canucks, did before he took a dip and the Canucks promptly traded him? Don't just give in to a guy and give him $93 million like he was another McDavid or Mathews,. Cause HE ISN'T.
