  1. From trade rumors today
Ducks are to aquire F Calle Järnkrok and future consideration from the leafs and leafs to aquire LW/C/RW Frank Vatrano at 50% retained and 3rd round pick in 2025 for RD Timothy Lijegren and F Pontus Holmburg and Der-Arguchintsev RFA signing rights if true or not we will see?

  2. The year to let him go was last year in a trade. This year with JT coming off the books the right move would be to resign him and use JT's 11 mil cap to sign two players. No point in bringing back an aging JT back. Also in what world does Marchand not retire in Boston.

  3. I would trade Marner for Marchand in a heartbeat..even though I don't like Marchands cheap shots and slew footing people.
If he takes the dirty out of his play and he joins Mathews and knies that would be the best line in hockey.
Marner doesn't play to my liking defensively. He takes swooping approaches to players or pucks to avoid getting hit.
Sometimes you gotta play with heart and take some hits.
Marchand would do that and he's better than Marner for that reason.
    Make the Trade

  4. If people can't see that Marner won't take the hit to make the play..even in the playoffs then you don't know what your talking about and you should stick to watching and less chirping.

  5. Marner is gone. Tre is building a heavy team. Leafs are now the second heaviest team in the league. Every player he has brought in is big. Marner and Robertson will be gone.

  6. Guaranteed, they offered him Nylander's contract and now won't budge off that. It's Marner who is holding out. Marner is the bad guy!

  7. Marner wants every single dollar. He's the most "me, me, me", player I have ever seen.

  8. Not hard to tell Kypper got punched in the head for a living.

Can't imagine Mitch going elsewhere unless Tre opts out. You don't treat a 26-27yo like an own rental like you do with a guy like Stamkos. If you argue that you could treat Tavares like that it would make sense as they are obvious comparables. Very similar careers/age.

  9. Leafs would be stupid to go after Rantanen or Bennett; both would cost in the 10 to 11 million range each, so they might as well just keep Marner.

  10. Stop , Stop……. Stop… Marner is going to resign, it will between 11.5 -12.375 for 8 years, he doesn’t want to leave and you cant realistically replace him. He isnt the only one that lost the playoffs all these years, 22 other guys and their coaches are just as guilty. The deal will be done before trade deadline

  11. Marner will be re-signed. You cannot trade a player of his caliber as you will not win this trade.

  12. Marner is a great player… the combined savings if Marner left and JT signed for 5mil would allow the leafs to make significant moves … to improve.

  13. If they sign Marner good.. if they don't and he walks, that fine too. $10m can get us good players to fill his role on top of having Cowan… as for Marchand? he'll never play for Toronto, so take him off the list. Lol

  14. First of all Kipper is not reliable. But on the topic of Marner. He had a three point night yesterday. And you barely notice him. His assists are all secondary. His defense has been great. I love him killing penalties but he is not an $11 million player. An $11 Million players drives the play, carries a line. He doesnt do that. Another huge Dubas mistake. He is a $9 million player at the best. So what do you do? What kind of a raise would you give him. He is already over paid so he is going to want a raise. Are we going to pay him $12 Million? That is crazy. Rantanen is twice the player Marner is . I dont understand why you guys keep saying he is so valuable. He once was a great player but he doesn't do the magic anymore and certainly is not worth $12 Million and he is not going to get that in the open market. He completely disappears in the post season And along with bad goaltending has been the biggest disappointment in the post season.

  15. Imagine the options they would have to improve this team with a reworked Tavares number and walking from Mitch. You can argue that loosing Marner makes the team worse but the cap flexibility creates a big opportunity to re balance the line up.

  16. I don’t think any team other than the Leafs would pay Marner 12 mil and the Leafs can't give him a raise,he is already way overpaid.

  17. I had to stop the video when you said you were getting your information from Kyprios. I loved him as a player but he's a terrible "insider"

  18. In no multiverse whether fictional or real was Brad Marchand ever a Maple Leaf, is currently a Maple Leaf, or is ever going to be a Maple Leaf.

  19. Marchant will never play for Toronto. He basically already said that. And if he did I'd end up being a MTL or Sens Fan. I hate that rat licking bit,,

  20. Let Mitch Marner walk, use his salary, plus the balance of Tavares salary, if we do a $3MM deal with him. Sign some of the one year players. Max Pacioretty is one for sure. Give Domi a pay increase. Even go after a 1A goalie, if they want. Just my thoughts.

  21. Treating him as a rental is the most fiscally responsible move, and if they lose early again it will also be the correct one. If they lose we dont want him anymore, if they win who cares if he signs. It's business. The last thing the Leafs need is a replacement for any of their core players, they need something Different.

  22. The only way I see this Leaf's team letting Marner walk away is if they are going all in for McDavid, and that's if McDavid decided to move on from the Oilers.
