Texas HSFB | Shiner Receives Lone Star Cup Then Beats Falls City
Shiner received their 5th 2A Lone Star Cup trophy then put on a masterful defensive performance in beating Falls City 21-3. Both teams gained 215 yards but the Comanches held Falls City scoreless on their final 9 drives after allowing an early field goal. Quincy Jones scored twice while the Beavers’ Braylon Johnson made some great runs & had an interception on defense. Teams could rematch in the 2A-II quarterfinals in December.

It was over when: Shiner football players watched as the school received the Lone Star Cup at halftime. They then forced a 3 and out and scored on their 1st drive of the 2nd half to go up 13-3 and never let FC back in the game.
Game ball goes to: Shiner OL/DL. In 2A everyone plays both ways and the line did it on both sides. The OL created holes for the backs while the DL had seemingly 13 in the backfield on every FC snap.
Stat of the game 1: 215. Each team gained exactly 215 yards on offense. Shiner’s all came on the ground as the only completed pass was a 2-point conversion.
Stat of the game 2: December 6, 2024. That is when these 2 would rematch in the state quarterfinals though 1 will have to beat Junction in an earlier round.
