  1. one thing a lot of bellyachers overlooked, is that last year, guentzel had 37 goals with a plus-minus of +8, stamkos 40 goals and a minus 21. jake is also 5 years younger. even with his skill level at his current age of 34, having scored 40 goals, steven is NOT going to be worth $8m in a few years when he declines.

factor in his powerplay points from last season and his goal scoring has dropped significantly 5 on 5 the last 3 seasons. 19 of his 40G came from the pp this past season, where he benefits a lot from kucherov and hedman. forwards that can play a 2-way game help teams win. these are the major reasons why steven's gone.

as a tampa fan i'm happy for steven getting one last big paycheck. i'm also glad the team dodged a bullet if that was the price ($8m /AAV) that was required to keep steven under contract.

it was amusing watching and listening to non-tampa fans and tampa casuals saying TBL did steven dirty, or theres no loyalty, or TBL should have signed him no matter what lol. the fact is, JBB saw steven for what he is: a declining 5v5 winger whose specialty is the PP and a liability on defence. steven's contract is not going to age well by the 2nd year.

steven has impressed me so much that if he keeps underperforming, he might even get bought out after year 2. 🤣

  2. well its only 4 games into the season and he's been with one organization for so long and it is a very gradual process to adapt to a new one after 16 years with one organization. It is more mental than it is anything else

  3. I don't give the odonkey credit very often but he is right on the money saying the cowgirls have no chance winning the super bowl

  4. And as soon as I give odonkey credit he goes and says something stupid.. this is the same clown who said he would send the Rangers goalie packing for wanting to get a big ticket! Now he is pumping his tires!

  5. Nobody in the Canadian media has actually watched Stamkos in a decade. For at least the last two years, he has been pretty much a one-timer on the powerplay and nothing else. His numbers for the last two years are purely a product of how good Kucherov is, and Nashville doesn't have anybody that good.

  6. Any NFL team making the playoffs has a chance at winning the Super Bowl. Not being a smartass here, just that NFL playoffs game being best of 1 means there's way more variance than the best of 7 you see in hockey or basketball.

  7. What award will leads win besides Mathew’s , u realize Mathew’s is the first leaf to win a major individual award?!?!?!

Noodles makes a good point, Berube wins jack adans, then M.J goes back to narnia with the William Jennings

  8. Guys don't be hacks. He's won how many straight art ross trophies? ZERO. Some dude named kucherov won it last year and had 100 assists. He will win it again this year barring injury. To be taken seriously, you must know and relay these things not just guess.

  9. Can we stop making bloody gambling such a big part of the show, I've already saw two friends lives get ruined cause of it

  10. Dallas hunter is luke Berube and hunter went into Washington and made the greatest scorer ever a 30 goal man.
