It's not like he is stamkos and won cups here. This is a business, he has made millions and was given a chance to live out his dream year over year. He failed! Tell him he is going to be traded, and thats it. Ask him for a list of ten teams he does NOT want to go and let's move on from this ball and chain
Also, Toronto is Not the only team that gets goalied. Every team in the nhl has this happen. Any other view on this is just Toronto diseased media

2 goals in 4 games is not anything to bitch about. Robertson has done nothing so far.
Agree. It was a 2-1 game with 2 asterisks given. NYR wouldn't have scored again if Stolarz played the whole game.
Tavares has 2 goals in 4 games on what is the 3rd line now and he is no good. the problem is you are comparing Tavares to generational talent and he has never been that good. He could never skate and he is giving us what he always has.
Leafs CAN NOT re-sign Tavares unless he wants to stay as a 13th player for less than $2 Mil & he plays 60 games a year & gets extra rest.
the Leafs have goal scoring power, the GAA of the opposing teams whether it's 2 or 3 against, the Leafs should be exposing this to the highest of the team they are playing, if not they are missing something.
On a down year he got 29 goals there is players scoring less & are between 5 million & 8 million its not his fault they offered him 11 million a year
Can’t agree. Tavares seems ok where he is. The performance of Holmberg and Robertson is a bigger issue. Unfortunate, but still have the “where does Robertson fit?” issue. Waiting to see what happens when Jarnkrok comes back.
Tavares is still a great player. Just not for the 11 million he's getting
5 games in and people think Tavares is washed up . Geeze
He'll get paid his contract and hopefully signs an extremely team friendly contract to stay. Leafs need to build long term culture and he seems the type of person you promote into coaching/management.

The two moves that unlock a run to the cup if dealt with appropriately is the Marner and Tavares contracts… we could see the money freed up to make the changes the team needs… a world class 2nd line centre and a marquee defenceman… and one more depth guy….
No matter how Tavares plays….either at 5m level or up to 11m, it really doesn't matter. He's a Leafs this season and that's it. Either way he's the second best centre. Now will he be resigned be the Leafs next season is the real question (as is Marner, McCabe, Holmberg, Knies, Robertson.and Timmins.
