Sean Couturier starts at left wing in loss to Canucks | PHLY Flyers Podcast

For the Flyers’ home opener versus the Vancouver Canucks, and for his 800th career game, captain and center Sean “Coots” Couturier played as the left wing on the 4th line in the 3-0 loss.

Sean Couturier noted postgame that he has played wing only a few times early in his career, and found out before the game he would be moving positions.

Bill and JP discuss this sudden change.

  1. Let's not kid ourselves. They had an energetic packed house eager to see something exciting happen. And the entire team came out flat as a pancake. Sloppy defense, bad clearing attempts, slow to develop up-ice offensive rushes, ill-advised cross-ice passes, lots of turnovers, 'one & done' poor long-range shots, no down-low net presence looking for rebound easy shots. They were out-hustled, out-shot, out-hit, and overall out-played the entire game. Booed off the ice, & deserved it. The Phillies & Eagles have been embarrassments to this city, are the Flyers going to be also ?

  2. Knocked down and pushed around all game. No wonder the fans were boo'ing them. Ed Snider is rolling over.
"I don’t want to see our team ever get beat up again…."
