The New York Islanders have been shutout for the third time in their first six games this season. Last night they outplayed the Detroit Red Wings for most of the game but couldn’t beat goaltender Alex Lyon in a 1-0 loss.

Omg they just got beat by a rebuild team with an average goalie that registered 11 shots over 60. This team is old, slow without any reeal talent apart barzy and horvat. PP is an absolute disgrace and zero offense. This was the worst game i have seen in a long time, they have no heart or desire, i hope the burn it down and go for a total rebuild next year…this obviously isnt working as currently constructed.
How do you jumpstart this offense, is anything Lou can do especially with that top line no longer intact

Played well. Couldn't catch a break. Getting shutout 3 out of our first 6 games is concerning. Seems like a lot of other teams are scoring a lot of goals, man I wish we had an offense. Overall our offense is extremely stale. 2.333 goals per game ranks 3rd to last behind San Jose and Nashville. Offense really needs to step it up. Power Play is ranked 30th…Terrible. Does Coach John MacLean run our power play? If so, how does he have a job?…Our power play was terrible last year and it is the same this year Terrible Embarrassing! Also, only 12,739 for the attendance…Here we go again. Honestly I wouldn't pay to go to a game right now either.
Gil, what has holmstrom or jgp done to deserve power play time? It’s been seven years now and it’s painfully obvious we’re just not talented enough. Duclair lasted five games and we’re right back to last season. I know where theirs a talented Russian who is still under islanders control. lol

The big 0-for third time in six games. Offense is mia. How can it get back on track? 11 or not this offense is pathetic and has been under louzer gm. And what good does it do roy to play more up tempo pressure hockey outshooting opponents when isles can't score? Outshot wings 28-10 and still can't score and lose. Putting 10 with 13, 14 did nothing. Isles lack finishers pain and simple and couldn't score on wings who pens scored on at will two weeks ago in their opener. That is the difference-isles offense sucks. Shut down 13, 14, 29 and isles are cooked with no depth scorers whatsoever. Tired of looking at this boring ass stagnant offense every season. 27, 44, 18 could pay for two guys that can score goals. 10, 26 first round busts that can't score that are wasting forward spots because isles have no one better to replace them. Unlikely but maybe it gets so bad louzer has to give dufour or maggio a call-up. fk louzer gm and his shit offense. btw no g from d men yet this season meaning teams can just collapse on 8 cause no other d men can score. Another reason isles have been shut out an nhl leading 3 times in 7 games so far. This team is still no better than last season, and the season before, and the season before blah, blah, blah… Just getting older and slower by the game. 7 lumbers around-a younger version of 27. 26th gf, 13 g in 7 games (all scored in 4 g), pp 28th, pk 30th. Offense is even worse than last season. Yeah this team is better louzer. Isles are like an old apple slowly rotting at the core.
How do you hold the opposition to 10 shots and lose the game? Incredible ….the last time that happened was 1999.
The sad part of it all is that Roy will be on the hot seat eventually when this team doesn't improve and there is nothing he can do to make them better. The reality is that this team lacks the talent to be competitive, when your best player by far is the guy with the mask, you're in trouble. This is my 48th season as an Islander fan and every game I look at the state of this roster and wonder how many years after Lou will it take to fix the damage and the number is too high. I feel for the younger fans who never saw greatness, they have a long road to happiness.
