The Edmonton Oilers held a 2-0 lead, and continued on to lose 3-2 in Overtime to the Carolina Hurricanes. The highlights of this game include Stuart Skinner being great, and the Oilers passing up shooting opportunities.

Every rival won. That part hurts
It’s was very kind of the boys to donate 2 points to the hurricanes organization🙏🤝
wtf was mcdavid doing looked like he was standing near the bench for a snack instead of helping the D lol
Nuge, hyman needs to be on 3rd line
Nuge is done like dinner
Swap Hyman and Ardvisson
No one said anything about Nurse ? He had a great game and is really turning it around !
How long can the team afford to let Nuge and Hyman get going. Hyman.. okay, he’s getting shots on net, but Nuge… at some point spots need to be switched.
Go Jets Go!! 🎉
First Carolina goal was off a failed clearing attempt. Second goal was off a bad line change by the Oilers (half the guys need to stay on and defend with how quick goalies and defencemen can pass the puck from their own end these days), third was on a 2-on-1 following an Edmonton turnover at the Carolina blue line. Gotta have 2 3-man units minimum for 3-on-3.
“Big Mac” and “Bratwurst” tried their best but Bouchard failed at the most inopportune moment 10 seconds before the end of overtime,
and the pitiful “Oilers” lost again!🤪 Hyman had another "bagel" ))😝 7 games = 7 "bagels"🤑
Talent but no leadership.
Fire the coach and trade Mcdavid and go to canadian tire and buy a pylon and replace nurse
Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Carolina Hurricanes. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.

Surgery was postponed so here are some stats. Again, I can't watch the games but I can listen to them and do the summary stats.
So, 1 for 4 on the PP. It's better than 0 for 4 so it's something. Hurricanes got 1 for 2 so PK still needs a lot of work but on the plus side the boys didn't take a lot of penalties.
Edmonton out shot, did better in the faceoff circle, had fewer giveaways (and one less takeaway) and had 2 more blocked shots than Carolina. Having more blocked shots is rare (though it's still a really low number). Oilers scored first and early in both 1st and 2nd periods (2nd person was the PP one) but Connor's first goal got the crowd up I'm sure (bar down shot, effectively a 2 on 1 as a D blew a tire). Third period Carolina got two (first on PP), second at the 13:29 mark. It took a lot of OT for Aho to finally pot the winner.
When you look at the numbers above there is a glaring one for me. Bouch playing nearly 1/2 the game (over 28 minutes, I mean brutal), coach has to give him a "get out of bagging it" ticket for that one the next time he makes the players skate with the bag giving him a pass on it. Look, I know the guys are all in shape but you go out there trying to defend and also be offensive, captaining the 1PP (for FOUR power plays) and then play OT you're going to be a bit "fatigued" (politically correct speak for running on empty).
While listening to this it was like the Oilers kept shooting themselves in the foot doing bad things they've done before that went away for a little while but crept back into the game as it went on. They had the lead at the end of the 2nd but messed up from there and it got worse. Look, Carolina is a good team but the Oilers should have had 2 points in regulation not 1 point in OT. Take care all.
the team doesn't show Any desire to win
They are playing to have the coach fire
Need to trade a player away
I haven’t seen a 2 nothing lead last in a long time.
How many times did draisaitl give the Puck away… He seems soo slow.
Oilers need to get a real goalie! There not going to make it with two back ups.
You can't win a game if you dont play the 3rd period.
Scoring 2 goals per game with the offensive players Edmonton has is just unacceptable. They need to figure things out fast.
Oilers are a year older and added more older players to the roster and honestly it shows. Faster players are frequently beating them to the pucks and therefore winning the puck battles. They are also sorely missing Kane's toughness and his willingness to grind it in the corners. And the offense needs to step up in all areas of the game as they are not getting it done in the offensive zone but they are not helping in their own end either.
It’s time for Leon to show that he can actually skate and work…….counting on McDavid for all the offence is getting old. Let’s give some more players away.
“Shady goal tending shady defence can’t score”
Sounds like a bad team
Like i said old team
Trade Drisital and buy a goalie.
Maybe the Oilers are just too comfortable in on their lineup. Whereas the team on the Flames is constantly being told that they be off the lineup or lose minutes in a game if you’re not effective. Seems the extra motivation is lost on the Edmonton Oilers
Drai going for the big contract diminished my faith in the team. If the core really want the cup, they needed to make that personal sacrifice to support more depth
The Oilers are right where they belong. Their so-called leaders don't know how to lead. Where the hell is the heart in this hockey club?? Rnh needs to be gone, that 5.5 million would come in handy for someone who WANTS to come here and win. He's been overrated since his inception into the NHL and he needs to go imo. Not just him, they all look lazy and disinterested, I want to see big changes in this failed hockey team, starting with nurse, he's useless, and I think it's time to part with mcd or drai. There's no way this team will win the cup, not with this crew.😡
Oilers just aren't as good as they think they are. Overpaid and underperformed. Look at the Flames. Lots of young kids playing their heart out every night! Season is young yet.
McDavid wins scoring race Oilers fail to make the play offs Mcdavid jumps ship after brutal Edmonton winter and sign's with tax haven Florida
