  1. The lefs haven't been shuout in 227 games said by the commentator on SN or 252 games I saw on a post on X. So not sure witch is right but regardless, this was Craig Berube first game and got shuout by the Habs lol.

  2. Still gonna be a long year having trouble scoring and a horrendous PP….can we stop with the damn drop pass all the time? IT DOESNT WORK!!

  3. 💯…. Jake Evans had a super game. I thought the penalty on Anderson was weak, but I thought he was ok.
Monty was the first star for sure though, hope he builds on it, and St Louis starts him @ Boston.

  4. A win is a win so I'll take it! Gotta give Mtl mgmt kudos for always having a classy home opener. It may not be flashy, it might not be all bells & whistles but I personally prefer the lower key intros. As for the game, Mtl had a great 1st period, their special teams did well esp their PK, nice to see Cole get the 1st goal for the Habs season, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd star goes to Monty. Now, I realize it's just the first game so plenty of time to improve but I will say, I definitely did not like the Habs 5-3 PP…way too stationary and way too predictable (stop with the constant cross ice passes!…just keep skating and quick passes.). I did not like seeing the 40+ shots allowed, and Mtl really struggled getting out of their zone starting in the 2nd and 3rd periods which was concerning to see. But I repeat, a win is a win! Bring on Boston!

  5. Team played like crap after the first period, only won because of Monty, and he also got super lucky as well, I'm not gonna celebrate this win that much, still not sold on Monty, see how they play tmr.

  6. 6 posts… just saying. We will take the points but we, and Sam, were lucky. Slaf looked clumsy. 3rd line should be Gally Armia Evans. They finished strong last year. Dach needs more finesse on his line which is not Armia's game. Maybe Kapanen ? It would be a waste to put Kap on the 4th line. Smiley Dvorak just doesn't do much. Wins face offs at a decent clip but gets thrown out too much. Move him to the 4th. Nice opening ceremony but wouldn't have been great if Nick came out with a sign that said " WE WANT THE CUP " ? Crowd would have went nuts and set the tone for the year. We mean business ! thanks Drew

  7. On my Birthday they always win #GoHabsGo! That said. On pp, pass pass shoot, stop passing a million times like they did after that first pp. Monty people mentioned on radio how he had no shutouts, wells there you go. lol.

  8. Congrats to Sammy – one game doesn't make a starter but this sure feels good. Interesting that the weakest part of the Habs game in the pre-season – the power play – was the entity that won the game. A satisfying win over the Maple Loafs in a three goalpost shutout for Sammy. Next up – Bruins – which I am marking down as a win with Primeau getting the start.

  9. Great musical introduction. Habs played pretty well, D still has problems getting puck up ice. Could have been a loss if the goal posts were not doing their job, however thoroughly entertaining game. Hutson did shine, PP was encouraging and the older guys were aggressive. I see some progress, but would like to see a team identity develop going forward. Panthers have achieved that and Habs are figuring it out. Kudos to Monty, stopped some of the best scorers in the world. So much fun to watch.

  10. I had a friend over to watch the game. we had a blast. So we bought tickets for Monday night's game vs the Pens. 1st time for me back at the Bell center since November 2019. I'm quite pleased with our Habs so far. Go Habs Go!!
