  1. I would definitely expect him to regress a bit. His Points line is 84.5 and Iā€™m smashing the under on that. very hard to duplicate a Norris quality year again as a young player with many ups and downs to come still

  2. Makar might be better right now, but I think the style Hughes places will make him better overall in the long run. Itā€™s just more sustainable then the north south speed game Makar plays. That being said, theyā€™re both great players that are going to make the defensive positions better over time, and theyā€™re a treat to watch šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

  3. If you send 1 fwd out to the point to check Hughes… its almost guaranteed he's gonna get his ankles broken

  4. Hughes might not be the fastest player in a straight line, but he's the best skater in the league. He breaks ankles with his deeks. He also breaks ankles with his slap shot… True story. I also think he's going to be the first player in the NHL to get back to back to back 100+ point seasons since Paul Coffey.

  5. I think the main thing you're missing from Quinn is his ability to breakout in less than 5 seconds of creating a possession change. His first pass is elite and when there is no first pass he can just skate it up himself. Great video!

  6. i know it was only the preseason but from what i saw, honestly, Quinn Hughes looked like he stepped up his level once again and im ngl. I would love to see another Quinn Hughes norris. Maybe 100 points this season as wellšŸ˜³

  7. Iā€™ve been thinking the same thing, Makar was better earlier but Hughes trajectory is pretty insane. every year he gets so much better on both ends. Iā€™m no hockey genius but one observation Iā€™ve made is that it seems Makar is much better at capitalizing on chances while Hughes is better at creating chances. Once Hughes learns to be more consistent with finishing his plays heā€™ll get 100 points easy. If you watch his mix from last year thereā€™s so many great plays he makes that donā€™t end up on the scoreboard

  8. His breakout is undeniable. So at 97% success rate of 'starting' the play from deep in his zone, the play begins as good as it possibly can.

Where'd I get that %??? Just by watching.

  9. If Hughes was on the Oilers heā€™d have 130 plus points last year. We will see Hughes totals go up. As he matures points will follow. Iā€™m betting 120

  10. You are absolutely delusional if you think Hughes will be better than Makar.. But he probably is a safe pick for the 2nd best defenseman.
