Jacob Trouba is obviously a guy with a reputation and deservingly so. The Trouba elbow has become somewhat infamous. So much so, that anytime you hear there is controversy surrounding Trouba, you immediately get a picture in your head of what to expect. In other words, he’s not often given any benefit of the doubt with NHL fans. In last nights matchup between the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens, Justin Barron got absolutely lit up by Trouba. Barron stayed down and was in rough shape as he is almost certainly concussed. Thankfully he was able to get up and off the ice be it with some assistance, as you have got to hope for the best for the young man. However, was this a penalty or a clean hit? Or did Trouba do no wrong this time around? I cover that, a crazy goal the Rangers scored after the Montreal defence quit skating thinking there was an icing coming and everything else form this one in todays NHL hockey video!

Clean hit. If we want physicality in this sport than this is not an example to complain about.
Trouba is that guy you hate unless he’s on your team at which time you love him 😂
Trouba is a piece of shit and plays to hurt people. It's a shame, because I actually like the Rangers and would love to root for them. Unfortunately, they decided to give that scumbag the C, so I will just laugh as usual when they win nothing at the end of the year.
Old time hockey! Feel bad for the youngster, gotta pay them dues.
nah trouba does his elbow fling now. he also was staring down barron, he absolutely knew what he was doing. clean legally, sure, but intent to injure. hes getting better at getting away with purposeful injuring
Dude knocked into next week 😅 Edit: clean hit but pretty sure back of his head bouncing off the ice is what concussed him.
Hitting should be like "yeah we collided, and mass knocked someone over" not a "I'm gonna run this guy and full force jump and throw my shoulder into his head and make sure he doesn't get up" type of hit… hitting is meant to take the guy off the puck, and just bumping their body is enough to knock them off the puck… after the guy passes the puck does he deserve to get leveled into the ice or boards just because he "had possession and therefor it's clean" type mentality in the NHL.
He's him
Trouba has never met a teenager he wouldn't attack.
Problem is he will never drop the mitts with wifi or any actual tough guy.
Classic American tough guy who's wife is playing the long con with his cte-ridden brain.
That looked clean
Ummm, careful freeze frame shows the head clearly is first part of Barron to take impact. Initial contact more like Trouba's back to Barrons head. Not a Habs fan or a NY hater but fuck this guy, same 'ACCIDENTAL" headhunting bullshit every year that is always excused like in this video. Unsubscribed ✔
I fully concur with your assessment.
Too many shrimps in this league now.
Clean hit
Clean hit
Clean. Trouba is a monster who lands a clean plow to the body 98% of the time.
Sometimes, I really don't like being a Habs fan man
Choo Choo Trouba Train
It was obviously a clean hit and it's why Matheson was kicked out of the game.
Clean? Look where he is looking as the hit developes. There was no time left in the game and it was long since over. Basically that hit had not purpose to even happen. Trouba needs to be… well. you know.
He cant score so dirty hits is the only thing he can do.
