It would be nice if the entire defense was a bright spot.
Why is Petry immune from being a healthy scratch? Everyone else other than Chiarot and the top pair have sat at least a game.
Lalonde needs to just let the offense off the leash. He still pretends “protecting the lead” works. Beyond frustrating at this point. The problems become even more glaring when you’re a fan of another team that’s actually good.
Give Holl a shot with Chiarot. He did play Line 2 minutes for a bit there and was fine. Put Petry and AlJo for Line 3
They should put Edvinsson on 2nd pair. Add some depth on the blue line.

Don't kid yourselves. Wings played like they should be in the AHL. They're going back to loser hockey all over again. If the Wings don't do something about having puck possession, it will be a long season in the loss column for this roster. Don't care what these podcasters are saying, but Seider doesn't know how to play offense almost always. Quit trying to defend this guy's all around play. Edvinnson is much more of an all around player than Seider. These podcasters say that Seider is always on the ice when the opponent's best players are? Well, why is it that the Wings can't hold on to the puck consistently when Seider is out there? Wings don't look like a winning club with Seider out there. Seider can't ve trusted in the O-zone. He looks pretty sloppy. These podcasters keep defending Seider, but it'll catch up with them. Bottom line is you gotta win consistently in this league. These podcasters continue to defend Seider, even when he has NO COURAGE taking taking the puck into the O-zone during a PP. He's usually dropping the puck off to a different player before crossing the center line. If Seider doesn't live up to his salary, he's gonna piss off a lot of Wings fans, watch and see. Just remember, it doesn't matter if Seider plays against the best players, if je can't compare and do the job and play a major role while he's on the ice, the Wings will continue down the road ro destruction. At least a couple players on the Wings need to be major on literally every game they play, just like McDavid, Drysaitl, and Bouchard on the Oilers, or you can kiss our chances goodbye this year. These podcasters continue to deny the realities of this Wings lineup. I like to see winners play on the Wings, not those who continue to use excuses. The excuses strategy will run out as the Wings continue to look like a minor league team, a team which doesn't know how to control the puck, and to put their vody on somebody, and defending players like Seider who can't be relied to be on offense, specifically on the PP. There are defensemen, smaller than Seider, who are so much better offensively. Seider has not shown that he is worth $8.55 mil a year. That's reality. Gotta call it the way it is.

Maata and Johansson should be 2nd pair
Johansson and Holl should definitely be tried as 2nd pair. I would rather have Holl over Petry taking those minutes, at least he can defend. I think Johansson is better than Chiarot, Maataa and Gustafsson at defending and should be given a shot.
This way the Wings would have 3 rightys playing the right side for the first time in what seems like 15 years. No more trying to backhand the puck off the glass out of the zone or having to pinch on the backhand.
Why are giving up so many shots and grade A’s?
Teams do not fear the Red Wings, this has to change.
They have been great and should remain together. Lalonde will have to rotate whoever is playing best on the 2nd pair. Yzerman can make a move at the deadline, but we would need to be near a playoff slot. I don't think Sandin-Pellikka will be ready by next season, but you never know.
When they drafted edvinsson it seemed the perfect vison is to have him split with Mo. Then in theory you have an elite defenseman on the ice almost the entire game.
But while edvinsson is developing as basically a rookie, I'm fine with them pairing him with Mo. Especially considering there's no fair D partner for Mo and edvinsson besides each other.

Alright, I'm probably the only person in the fanbase who thinks this way, but I think this analysis is flawed and this conversation is silly.
This team has no defensive structure. Every team forechecks them successfully and every player makes desperate, easy plays to try to clear the puck that frequently don't work. I do think Seider and Edvinsson have been good for the most part. However, can you really say they are dominating when they spend so much time in the defensive zone? I don't blame them though. Just like I don't blame Chiarot. This is a team issue.
Edvinsson is getting a pass because people are excited about him. He has his pocket picked like, 3 times in the first period against Buffalo. And you guys said repeatedly before that Chiarot and Seider were good together at the end of last season. Today Brian flipped that and said Chiarot couldn't keep up with Seider last season. This conversation is propped up by looking at advanced stats, but it is not one player's fault if they are on the ice for a bunch of shot attempts against. Please just try to think a little deeper beyond your preconceived ideas about each player.
If there goal is to let the rookies live and learn while allowing mo 77 and Raymond to take another step fine with that but product on ice hasn’t looked very good one line isn’t going to cut it simple as that shame too cause they could use Kane and few others in situations that would help them but they pretty much can’t / let the offense go ( I don’t mean give up on defense but if we need to win games 4/3 5/4 what ever is better then this , can’t go back now tho here we are lol but love the team hope they can pull it off somehow but this is a big year in allot ways – I hope that in the back round Stevie or working on some trades or something
