The Oilers do not have a trainer, that knows hot to demand/extract from each player the maximum AND they have no goalie. What you are asking, that each player needs to step up, is a lack of good trainer work. If it were up to the players to put their best foot forward, then they don't need a trainer. In any sport, the trainer needs to reach the team, Knoblauch is not speaking to the team during the game, he stands there as a New York Stock Exchange executive, expecting the players to figure it out. Or if you want it in a different way, if Paul Maurice were the Oilers trainer, I would blindly bet $1M the Oilers would be Stanley Cup winners in 2025. Like this, with Knoblauch and Skinner in the goal, no cup comes close to Edmonton.
They are not playing good enough. We can sit here and give excuses Iâm done with the excuses and I donât want to hear itâs early no thatâs an excuse stop saying that. Itâs time these guys step up if they have to do extra practice time or throw some hits even fight some guys do it. The coach needs to get aggressive with his players they need to know there effort has not been good. You donât get thatâs okay try again at your work do you no you screw up itâs on you sometimes that comes with a firing. They need a better effort.
1:23 No one really knows how LTIR really works. My working theory is that the Vegas Knights have been playing funny with it for years and no one knows enough to call them out.
I suppose it would take way too much luck it was 25 out instead of 97âŠâŠâŠteam would be improved. I think these guys are gonna surprise people, good chance to step up and it might be what a few need to play to their potential.
October 8th- oilers fans "were going to win the cup"
October 28th- oilers fans- "if #97 is out the season is over"
Can someone explain to me how the juggernaut oilers, the team of the century success is dictated by the availability of one forward who plays 20 minutes a night?
The Canucks meanwhile without their best player in the most important position have points in 7 of 8 and on a night where our stars were off we battled back from two down to get a point.
That's the difference between the two teams, we rely on depth, structure and pride, while the gutless oilers rely on McDrai.
It must be incredibly frustrating to have two of the best players in the sport only to surround them with a bunch of hacks.
I have witnessed some truly gross performances but that 6-1 drubbing was beautiful to watchâ€
Do you think the Blue Jackets knew they had a cup contender coming in, who has a history of stumbling out of the blocks, and brought their A+ game? Prolly feeling pretty good about themselves now. Likely not the only ones gunning for the Oilers this season. The Oil must commit to unceasingly proving themselves. Bowman needs some of his acquisitions to step up and help lead the charge.

Too damn long is the correct answer!!
corey perry for the "A" he works hard to be good and contribute all the time.
Congrats on the 17k Tyson! You, Patrick, and the ON team are the best source of Oilers info
Old and slow and they just got slower
Ryan is too small, too slow and getting too old. Philp is young, fast, big and very good at faceoffs.

Bob Stauffer for PM!!
This team is not built to play a physical style of hockey, especially all season long.

If these guys are going to play like they did against Columbus the whole time McDavid is gone this season is over already.Earn those millions boys!
Oilers are the NHLs official retirement home for players past their best b4 date.
Depends, it is the same leg he hurt 5 years ago by once again going feet first into the boards, hope he didn't destroy anything.

Stick a fork in this team it's over. Just so you know that was official when Broberg and Holloway bounced.
