  1. Heading to the game tonight at PPG. Hoping to see something turn around. I'm not expecting cup contenders this season, but something better then this current turd in the punch bowl is better than nothing.

  2. 5:20 you’ve also got 3 wins in 11 games and you bring up defense but say Sullivans not the problem….. who coaches defense then? Karelsson was winning awards on one of the worst teams in the NHL then gets traded to the pens and forgets how to play hockey. It’s not a coincidence

  3. This joke of a GM said that he wants young players in, and filled all the spots with weak veterans, that not a single team needed. At the end of the day, two young players in POJ and Ludvig left the team to open place for Grzelcyk🤦🏻

  4. Although I don’t think keeping ludvig would make this a playoff contending team, I agree letting him wan was a huge mistake. Gryzlyck is awful. Graves is significantly better this year but still not worth what we’re paying but I’d rather see graves-tanger Petterson-Karlsson Ludvig-St. Ivany like last year. That would be significantly better than what’s put out there now. I’m not waiving the white flag on the season, the pp is better, they have better scoring depth, but the D is just awful.

  5. Something has to change. You can't change the players, so you have to change the system. It is the only option.

  6. Don’t forget the Karlsson trade as another bust due to the cost of his contract and his midget team defensive play.

  7. This is news to me that we dont have John Ludvig anymore.

WHY DID WE GET RID OF HIM?

    He was decent last year

  8. Felt a little optimism here. It really is just defense. If somehow they can find a way to start defending they may win a game here or there

  9. I know you don't like to mix sports, but Bruce Arians used to say, "In the NFL you block with one muscle: the heart" Might this also apply to defensive hockey

  10. No trade clauses? I'm guessing the list is getting longer for players that don't want to wear depens. Ownership better pay attention to how many fans walk out during the 3rd period.

  11. You had me until you said John Ludvig is doing great in Colorado and being praised by his head coach. Ludvig has only played in 3 out of Colorado's 11 games, and he was a healthy scratch again last night. He's actually their 7th/8th defenseman. But yes, he would still be a better defensive option that Karlsson, Grzelcyk and Graves.

  12. Thank you DK. Well I agree with all you have said, The defensive problem will continue unless it gets addressed. Same problem that keeps returning. It's still early and there is still a chance. Great show DK

  13. Dubas gets criticized for his signings but the team still should be better than what it is. When GMs change out half the roster year after year recently, with the results getting worse and more than just a couple players playing poorly, it’s more on the coach than the GM

  14. There was, for whatever reason, a lot of false hope pushed this offseason by the media in general. This was not a better team on paper than last year. That was obvious. The idea that all they had to do was fix the PP and they'd be contenders was the ultimate con. Sid looks like a 37 year old. Geno will slow down and his defensive game is horrendous. It's not a good team. The question is how is this shock to some.

  15. Would love to hear your thoughts about how they could fix the defensive core. Could they make personal changes?

  16. Players that cant perform well in Pittsburgh, leave and excel elsewhere. Players that perform well elsewhere come to pittsburgh and look terrible. whats that tell us? rhymes with doaching.
