  1. I was among the people that thought the Bruins would be a wild card team at best. This crow tastes pretty nasty. But I have to eat it.

  2. People quietly mention all of the Bruins fortunes seemed to have turned around when Cassidy left. I partly wonder what the previous few years may have brought

  3. You can tell, that the new coach did such a great work to connect all the lines. Before him, it was mainly about the "perfect trio" that dominated and all the teams were preparing mostly for them. This season is different, you can see brilliant chemistry in all four lines.

  4. What's also even more impressive about having 30 wins in 38 games is the fact that they're in the East, therefore they play more games against the East and the East is overall wayy better than the West is.

  5. Boston born / Raised bruins fan here . I love how Montgomery has helped almost every single player in the roster contribute in points , getting wins and proving it's all about being a selfless team . The flow , the layers and consistency they have is just … beautiful * knock on wood * I don't wanna jinx tonight's game lol .

  6. The entire D Corp is under 30, Goalies under 30, half the top 6 under 30. Can people please drop the "old core" narrative. Yes, they have 2 key old players, but beyond that, the bruins aren't old. More than half of their "core" is under 30.

  7. I would agree that pasta should be a dark horse hart candidate yet he is still almost 25 points behind the leader

  8. I remember in 2011 with like a month left in the season the Canucks were number 1 in all of:
    Goals for
    Goals against
    Goal differential
    Power play percentage
    Penalty kill percentage
    Faceoff
    Save percentage
    GAA
    Most 10 goal scorers

  9. You could argue it's more impressive in today's NHL with 32 teams, more travel, then it was in the 1920s and 40s when there were only 6 teams, all basically in the eastern timezone.

  10. There’s a few reason for this. First Ullmark. He’s having a crazy Tim Thomas 2010-11 like year so far. Second is Monty. He has opened up the offense while being able to keep the same dominant defense that they have had. And third you can tell that they are playing for Bergeron and want to win him another cup before he retires. And finally depth which is something they didn’t really have in the past few years.

  11. Idk why but I'm like 80% certain they aren't going to win the cup, it just feels like there's no way they're gonna keep this up or they'll choke in the playoffs.

  12. You didn't really answer how they're doing it though? The team is not that much different from last years team…..except for the coach. That's where I think they struck gold. The team had been drilled for six years in Cassidy's defense first system (which had burned out a lot of the players frankly– Krejci, Debrusk, even Bergy — has anyone noticed how he seems to be much happier this year? He's smiling, vocal with the team which he never really was before and just seems really happy in interviews etc. Anyway, my theory for how they're doing it is that being drilled in Cassidy's defense first system and then add in Monty's everyone skating everyone contributing to the offense system has created a magic stew that the players are really loving playing. IDK if it was planned or just a happy accident (I have doubts Neely or the GM said in the off season "We need to do this to unlock the team's potential" but I think maybe Monty knew he could have stumbled into the perfect situation. Anyway that's my two cents. As a B's fan I'm sure enjoying it though

  13. Coming from a fan: My take is that the new coach is just what the players needed. Meanwhile Ullmark, Debrusk, Frederik and Foligno have seriously stepped up. The rest are mostly also playing on a level above of what was expected of them. We have 3 solid, offensively dangerous lines when everyone's healthy and a great 4th line to boot. It's just too much for most opposing teams. That said, I think they haven't been as good as they were at the start of the season. Before the season started I also thought that the Bruins were going to be in trouble, I actually thought they were going to miss the playoffs. Crazy! But I'l take it.

  14. I'd still try making shorts. I just started getting into them and notice a lot of channels having explosive growth (not sports related, but a few that surprised me because I knew them before). You seem to be stuck with the other three or four people making similar content but you're by far the best and deserve the viewers. This content in short-form is prime for the format. Those who adapt, survive.

  15. The Bruins play a solid 2 way game and feature 3 really good lines and their 4th line is pretty good also solid D for the most part could use some help I think Clifton has to many holes. and lets not for get the Number 1 goalie in the NHL at this point and Swayman is a good netkeeper also. not halfway thru season yet. I think picking up Horvat and some D and we are going to Take the Cup this year. losing JD for a few weeks hurts but bringing former MVP to 2nd line moving Pasta up its all good. we need Horvat and some D injury bug hits every team the B's started without 2 great players and 2 good ones and still won. those one year deals have sparked this team like nothing else.
