Can't blame the coach when this team only has 4 forwards and 2 D-Men. The Oil will be up and down all year, just hope they can go on a run, have Katz write some checks in the off season so a new GM can clean up this mess.
Nurse is still +12, highest on the team. He is not the problem. Woodcroft cannot say 'they're the Stanley Cup Champs'; this is the team that just lost to the Canucks 4-2? Blowing leads is not a skill problem. It's entirely between the ears. Even if they had won it would have been a steal having been outshot 2 to 1.
I was going to attend tonight's game…free tickets from a friend who was going to take me…I declined to go as I'd rather stay home and hangout with the fam jam lol..more enjoyable then watching spoiled and lazy Lil boys attempt to play pro hockey. 🤢🤮
Jay I don’t know what team you’re coaching five on five we had four shots in the first. Are you high stay off the pot I’m getting tired of you making excuses excuses all the time grow some balls
team d is terrible. fire manson.. whole team did not show up this game.. how can u play one good game and then terrible the next.. constantly facing 40 + shot is no good for any goalie. lacking a leader in the team like keith and smith…. and the coach is too soft..
Up 2 after 2 periods, I expected a tied game before it was over. Again, an easy call. Skinner was best Oiler by a good measure. DOMINATED! by the Avs. Most of the 3rd at 5v5, looked like an Avs PP. Lol… At least most people seem to have awakened to the reality that it was never the goalies (not counting Campbells troubles so far this year, last game not withstanding) for the last 4 years. The D is now worse then last year, when they still needed 2-3 solid Defensive D men. It has been really sub par for years and is really weak now. McDavid and Dria almost saved the day, but how much can 2 players do on a team with this D. Common Holland…
Ugh another game Edmonton should have won now guess what they got 4 games in a row here that are all divisional games LA , Anaheim , San Jose and Vegas yep we can’t lose points too these teams but the oilers will find a away.
I think we can all be happy with what Jay has done. But at some point you wonder if an always positive coach like Jay is good for a young team but not as good for a team who needs to be held accountable. Im sure its hard to be both. Jay would be the ideal young team coach always being positive.
I get it. Keep the positivity. Sometiems i wonder, you cant play the stanley cup winning team and win every play or moment ot even for stretch. But u have to wonder if Jay needs to get more msd at his players. Losing any game where u have a multi goal lead in the 3rd is not good.
A couple bad calls were pretty crucial: they called Hyman for diving when he was clearly being held up. Why didnt they call the Avs player when he easily fell down when Kostin had his stick between the guys legs. As soon as he felt it he collapsed. Also Draisaitl's penalty. The player flumg back their head like and overexagerated. Amd on Draisaitls first penalty they should of took both players off but only we got one. That panalty swung the momentum where we could have been up more earlier.
Woodcroft has clearly changed his coaching approach and the way he's using his players compared to last year. It seems Woodcroft is now "afraid" to lose and is burning out his super stars to combat his fears. As much as Woody tries to sell to the media that he believes in all his guys the way he distributes ice time tells a different story. Message to Woody: the last thing you want to do is look and sound insincere to your players and to the fans. Woody's bla bla bla superfluous player analysis answers almost sounds like he's auditioning for an ESPN anchor job knowing that an NHL coach's shelf life is 1 to 3 years. Woody, this is hockey, a blood and guts sport…stop with the ESPN auditioning, stop with the philosophical answers and start speaking from the heart and not the cerebral cortex. If you coach with no passion your players will play with no passion. Focus on coaching a $500M hockey club with passion, you'll have plenty of time to land your ESPN anchor job where you'll be paid handsomely to do your in depth cerebral player analysis that you love to do.

Both 9 million defenseman stood out today . One looked like the future one looked like he was thinking about his off season
Man I wish woodcroft was as honest as torterella
I like Woody but he’s not holding the vets accountable. He benches all the young guys after they make mistakes but not the vets.
Unfortunately he’s out coached. Quit blaming the crossbar… they had us for 50 minutes of that game. This defence is killing us.
This team going no where!! They do not know how to defend as a team and are not greasy enough!! Soft!!!
Who you kidding the Oilers played like crap, the only that played was Skinner. If it wasn't for him it would of been a blow out.

I could be looking into this too much, but “who knows how we’ll look come Monday” seems like an interesting comment 6:00
Crossbars don't count Jay

An overtime loss means they banked a point. The glass is half full.
Woodcroft should maybe split up the defence and not put nurse and ceci together……Hello!! 2 Dumbasses playing together 😒😒
Wow another 2-0 loss 😢
Competitive hockey game??? Wtf is he talking about???? That was a 5v5 SLAUGHTERING!!!!!
Good job holding the closed door meeting. Really helped with this teams joke of a work ethic, they almost showed up for a full 5 minutes tonight.
Only question an interviewer needs to ask Woodcroft is —-> Is Nurse really worth 9 million dollars? Think we can do better?
"No leads are safe" hmmmmm. What else can he say to that question, buy this rhetoric is getting a bit old.

In serious serious trouble of not making the playoffs now. Wow, Brutal.
Just admit the oilers won't win at home
And the 5 losing skid is over for the avs… damn oilers!!!
To be positive, i hope we are learning in our lessons in Dec and January then April and May.

Man can't stand the way we play we never put puck on net. I guarantee if they put more pucks on the net, we would win more games.
Did he just call Colorado an elite team, who just lost 5
Straight… 4 in regulation
