*sorry about a few errors in this, like it should say 18 not 19 games played and I said 62 goals against and I meant 66* 😑
Also happening at the same time as the pick up was Comrie getting hurt. Speaking of whom, I hope he stays in Rochester, UPL has been lights out! Go Sabres!
WOW his faceoffs are pretty darn good too. Awesome pick up.
I've always liked Girgensons although I'll be the 1st to admit you can get guys like that in lower rounds (but I don't recall if Niles Crane thought somebody else was going to draft him). But he clearly leaves his heart and work ethic on the ice every shift and I will always be thankful for such a player
Jost –> almost instantly went to PK and other tough faceoff assignments and has excelled. He reminds me a lot of a younger Girgensons. Jost has fully bought in, the team adopted him immediately, blah blah blah. I think it's working out great and seeing the numbers back me up only further strengthens that
I have liked the jost pick up when I first saw him play. He isnt lazy, which is why he works very well on the girgensons/okposo line. I find his energy may have boosted the other 2 guys. You mentioned girgensons…he has beaten alot of young guys to the puck to prevent an icing. Jost is likely feeding off girgensons fight for pucks along the board. Very impressive 4th line.
Ya i agree i like Jost better than Bjork,Asplund,or Vinnie great move by Adams Girgie is also another re eason this team is finally balanced
I think the big thing.. he spent much time with Colorado.. last years champs.. yes, he got moved before the playoffs.. but he still comes from a team that rebuilt and went to the top. That experience he brings here and sometimes, all that's needed is just someone on the team that's been there. I don't know if his part was enough to get his name on the cup (it could or may not have been… teams are funny that way), but just being about to say.. "This is how we did it" coming to a young lockerroom and make a huge difference.
Most has certainly helped on the PK, and overall on playing team defense.
I’d agree with you on Eichel, except for 19-20. He was pretty exceptional that year.
Tage has obviously been better though 😊
I did some research Wayne, Vrana apparently is a HUGE Cancer in the dressing room.He had many arguments with the Washington coaching staff when he was there .Like Merkly, Vrana also has an attitude problem .
Vrana also became addicted to pain killers when he had a shoulder injury and i also heard he might have had a cocaine addiction while in Washington .
Yes i agree i like the addition of Jost but i have to say i like the 4th line better with Krebs at centre with okposso and girgenson. Hopefully Jost can get olofsson and Middelstadt to hit and score more. I would definitely be interested in bringing him back next season even if its just as a spare forward.
I like Jost. He brings effort and solid defensive support while chipping in a goal here and there. Also some decent physical play. I see him as a long term 4th liner as an Okposo and Girgensons replacement.
Video request…. since we have Miller's jersey retirement ceremony coming up, any chance of a video on reflecting back on Miller's time in Buffalo and what you thought of him as he developed from an unknown to a superstar?
I like Jost but I think we can attribute most of our success as of late to Samuelson’s return.
Jost is a positive influence on how our bottom 6 should play. He is a keeper for sure
Nice! Got this link from dbtb site. Will view others.
Don't know if there is enough numbers on how well others do when playing with Cozens, but was wondering how past linemates do with and without him on his line. I really liked Petera and Tuch early on with Cozens when they played a few games together. I know Tuch and Thompson won't be separated now, but wondered if Tuch and Cozens would put up similiar numbers off and def. I see they get thrown together once and awhile.
Love it!
I’m very happy Jost has worked out. He brings speed and energy we need in the bottom 6
Some of Detroit’s best players are going to be ufa after this year so and some more in 2 years. I don’t know why people think Detroit are going to be this power house team. Maybe they will be but they only have 2 young players who are good so far.
Detroit pays chairot and copp close 10.5 million bucks a year that’s not good for the future.
I liked how much Tyson liked being here when he arrived…. Some games Zemgus amazes me with is speed in certain situations… On another note, I hope Capt Jack does well enough, elsewhere, that I can unload my #15 and signed #9 jerseys to some sucker…
Tyson Jost is Color blind? Anyone else heard this? I see a video of him seeing color for the 1st time (via glasses)
Is there such a thing called a 'Faceoff coach'? Can we get one of those PLEASE!
Wayne I love your videos and watch weekly. Can you do a video on my favorite player Dylan Cozens?!?! This year is his coming out party and is gonna be an elite 2nd line center for years to come. His development is amazing. What do you think his potential is?
