I guess that hit was technically clean but man that could have been a lot worse. A dangerous distance from the boards and a player who was unaware of the other guy coming. I don't mind hitting. I really don't it's part of hockey to separate the player from the puck but I don't like to see the ones where there is clearly an attempt to just drive the opponent into the next planet.
I met Erik Gudbrandson while working when he was playing for the Florida Panthers we spoke for about 10 to 15 minutes he is such an incredible humble human being he was so happy that he even got recognized to tell you the truth. This guy is an incredible teammate who embodies the code and will always do what is necessary to drop the gloves. Despite the fact that statistically he's a bust considering that he was a first-round pick third overall you can't take away the fact that this guy is the last of a dying breed.
That's fine if it was a clean hit, but if your going to throw clean hits against guys that probley will fight you(in the case of macewan), don't be surprised when they do. Especially when Mackey has a history with the canucks for having to fight twice on hits he threw on Pearson and Highmore in the same game lol. As for Guddy, don't be surprised if there's a round 2. Players have long memories and you bet macewan won't like how guddy came up beside him with his gloves already off and starting throwing. Looking forward to the rematch between guddy and macewan.
