When people were freaking out and thought the sky was falling when we hit the low point of the season probably the Chicago loss I was thinking we looked better in most of these losses than we did last season when we were winning. Think there was definitely a lack of confidence where guys were gripping their sticks too tight,
Maybe hesitating a little bit, overthinking their shots a little, but the looks were there and outside of the Bruins loss I didn’t think we were getting outplayed much. The sheer amount of posts we hit in that time was insane, we were hitting like 3-4 posts a game at times. If we can just clean up a few things, and start getting some real production out of a couple young wingers who I will not name the Rangers can win the cup, we can also miss the playoffs if we fall back into that bad luck/low confidence hockey.

Yeah that seems to match what I’ve seen from this team. We are much better this year on offense than last year at this time. It is rare for us to have easy goals come our way though, and when they do we tend to blow out teams as those lucky bounces have been coming in bunches. If our PP improves at some point we could go on a big run in the second half of this season.

A big part of that change has been Trocheck, Kakko, and Chytil showing up big with a great year from Fox propping us up instead of a godlike year from Igor.

So on offense we create a lot of quality chances, but our shooting is shit. And on defense we give up a lot of quality chances, but Igor saves the day.

So TL;DR is basically a very good offensive team with some bad luck and a decent defensive team with good goaltending?
