Jake DeBrusk’s Winter Classic heroics may have come at a cost.
The Bruins forward was seeing wearing a walking boot and may have fractured his foot, reportedly prompting the recall of Chris Wagner.
Host Ian McLaren discusses the implications of the injury and takes a look at 3 questions facing the Bruins this year:
Can Boston win the Stanley Cup?
What will Don Sweeney do at the trade deadline?
What will the Bruins roster look like on opening night next season? (and will it include David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and David Krejci?)

Ian, could and (if so) should the Bruins trade for Bo Horvat from the Canucks in order to 1) help them make a push for the Cup and 2) get a top-6 Center for the future – since Bergeron and Krejci might not return. OR would it be too disruptive to current chemistry?
Good balanced assessment.
I like Chris Nelsons question below my comment – so I'll watch for that answer.
What do you think of this?
It seems since you recorded this, they announced Jake going on LTIR
Not into clickbait nor rumors, yet something's hitting my brain. Jake was playing intense – something might be going on with his dad? Louie couldn't make the Winter Classics. Jake said something about keeping the ticket for his dad, keeping the empty seat.
– wondering if something's up with his Dad or family? and I'm sending prayers-
that my intuition is wrong!
But otherwise, hoping I'm waaaay off-
Not too concerned about Jake- If we really needed him to stay in wild card position, I doubt they'd put him on IR. Teams pull elite players for "maintainence" this time of the season to be ready for playoffs.
I expect Bergie, Foligno, even Pasta take a "maintenance break"
Ullmark's going to need another one, Sway's gotta step up.
Jake's been flying too close to the sun- almost melted his wings.
Hockey players are intense. We have watched him go on a couple of emotional swings the last three seasons… This might be good.
Bruins are a family, and Jake wants to be a career Bruin for life – I expect them to stay quiet. Yet the combination of Louis missing the winter classic? Jake making it a point to tell us he kept that ticket for his dad, seat empty? Then going on IR for one month?
I don't like it in the personal sense, nothing to do with hockey
It's still first week of January so-
Cheers 2023!
